Ride a Bike

When I think of summer, one of the things I remember from my childhood is learning to ride a bike and then once we (my brothers and I) learned, we rode all over the farm.

Bicycles seem to be the "rage" with stamping images now. I am seeing them all over. With the hot weather we are having this week, I decided to create some bicycle cards.

My first card uses a bicycle chipboard from Cosmo Cricket. The bicycle paper is from Jillibean Soup and the aqua paper is by My Mind's Eye. I added vintage buttons to the center of the wheels and the dotted lined paper is from Fancy Pants. I added the "Just Because" digi ticket image to finish it off. You can find it and lots of other fun ticket images here. I colored the ticket with Tombow's Irojiten Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol.

For my second card I used a tricycle image from Biblical Impressions.
I colored the image with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. The ticket strip is a sticker from Jillibean soup. I thought the sentiment "ticket 2 ride" was perfect for this image.

Did you know that today is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day? Well, I’m thinking we can eat ice cream and then “ride” it off. Ü You can go HERE to read about this wonderful “holiday”. Today is my 3 month check up from my back surgery, so I may just treat myself to some chocolate custard. It wouldn't be right to let a fun "holiday" like this one slip by without celebrating....right?! LOL!

Adhesive used to put the cards together was Tombow's Mono Adhesive Permanent and for the buttons: Power Tabs.

  3. too funny! We ride our bikes 16 miles round trip to Dairy Queen in the summer for blizzards. We ride for 20 miles on Washington Island and then we stop for a chocolate shake before we get on the ferry to come home!! Bicycles and ice cream just go together!
