Old Pickup

Happy National Handwriting Day! Tombow sent the DT a kit of pencils which also included an eraser and pencil sharpener and a moleskin notebook. Since I'm not a letter-er, I decided to show other ways you can use the pencils. *my 'handwriting' will be the note i write inside the card ;)

I colored this digital image (from Tiddlyinks) with 3 different pencils from the Mono Drawing Pencil Set and 3 Irojiten Colored Pencils.

To get the color I wanted for the pickup, I used King Fisher V-7, Porcelain blue Lg-8, and Peacock Blue V-6. Using the pencils from the set I shaded under the pickup and windows with pencils 2B & 4H and the tires with 6B. Then I just blended with a dry blending stump.
I used Mono Adhesive Dots to adhere the panels together on the card.

Here is what the pickup looks like before it's colored.

Elephant Valentine

Hard to believe January is two thirds over and Valentine's Day will be here soon. The Cutting Cafe design team is creating Valentine projects for you this week. As always, there will be lots of fun ideas to help inspire you with your own ♥ projects.

I created this card using VALENTINE ANIMALS AND BUGS...PRINTABLES and
The elephant is a colored printable and I traced the ear and paper pieces it using some patterned paper for a different look. I added the red and white thread to imitate the  string tied around the elephant's trunk. Using a light colored gray marker (N89) from Tombow helped "ground" my elephant and add a little shadow on and around the image.

Happy Birthday Chickadee

Clean and Simple with a solid backgroung is this week's design team challenge over at the Cutting Cafe. We could use Every Day Greetings Set 1 or 2 and I chose the chickadee sentiment from Every Day Greetings Set 2.

Clean and simple is hard for me to do, I always want to add a stuff and I did sneak in some glitter on the birds hat. I used Tombow adhesive for my layering and Irojiten colored pencils for coloring.
