Apple Pie

I've had this image colored and cut with my new Nestibilites die since it came out a couple of weeks ago. It's been sitting on the table waiting for inspiration of how to use it. When I saw this card of Laurie's, I knew I wanted to CASE the sketch. I love this layout!

I didn't have the cute little paper clip and was going to leave it blank, but then decided to use a regular paper clip. Silver didn't go with my color scheme, so I colored it with a rust Copic marker. I LOVE that you can do that! So much fun!!

The lace is some I picked up at a second hand store. A ziploc bag full of fun vintage seam tape, lace, rayon seam binding and hooks & eyes (will have to find a way to use those too) ALL for 50 cents! WOOHOO!!! I was sooo excited! Yellows, brown, blues, creamy whites, the lovely sagey, olive-y green color (used on my card here) and burgundy. Colors perfect for fall projects.

I speckled the pie tin to look like the antique enamelware. I would love having a pie tin like this. To speckle, just make dots with your clear Copic pen after you've colored the image.

There are SEVEN images in this set for only $1.50!! How can you go wrong with that?

Halloween Triangle Treat Box

This cute treat box is created using Inky Antics triangle box stamp and their cute stamps: Fritz Frankenstein and a treat background that must be discontinued as I can't find it, but they have other cute ones that would work.

Here are the instructions to make this:
1. stamp solid paper with background stamp
2. On the back side of stamped background paper stamp box template
3. cut and fold as lines indicate (solid for cutting, dotted for folding and punch holes on the dots

4. fold up into triangle and add ribbon and tie
5. stamp image, color and cut and adhere to triangle front with Tombow's Mono Adhesive Permanent.

If you would like to make these and don't have this triangle template stamp, I found a tutorial HERE that is close to it.

I love fall BEARY much

Isn't this the CUTEST scarecrow bear you've ever seen?! This was the freebie this week for Designed2Delight. Have you been playing along with the challenges? Faith has another fun image for you tomorrow. It is an image of something I have a small collection of. Hmmmm. what do you think it is? Ü

If you haven't been playing along, you can still pick him up in the store here.

Good Friends

I love this sentiment by QKR Stampede. You can buy the digi image here.

Fall break is officially over and we are back to school today. Tonight I am going to another SU! class. Can't wait to show you what we make.

Punched Pumpkins

I took a class a couple of weeks ago and we made the cutest projects!! Four cards and a treat project. Here is the pumpkin scene that we made and it was all with SU! punches. I will be sharing the other projects later.

There was also a bat punched image that the others put on the moon and a ghost hiding behind the pumpkins, but I wanted my card to be more fall-ish than Halloween, so didn't add the bat or ghost. Thank you Bridget for a super fun class!

Pretty In Pink card kit

This is another card kit from my friend Melissa. Here is the card she made.

She sent the card panels separate, with the silver image already stamped and embossed. I added the jewels and flower (in the kit) and my own brad.

Let's Talk Turkey

Welcome to QKR Stampede's "Let's Talk Turkey" Blog Hop. Did you just come from Ceal's blog? If you did you are right on track. If not, be sure to start there for the instructions and then hurry back here. Ü There will be a $20 gift certificate to the QKR Stampede store as a prize for this hop! WOW...what an awesome prize!!

Here is the fun project I made using the turkey image again. It's another toilet paper tube project.

I stamped the sentiment (a corny one I just made up) with Karen Foster snap stamps. Just wrap a toilet paper tube with patterned paper using Tombow's Mono Adhesive Power Bond and decorate as desired.

Now it's time to HOP over to Monika's blog and see her wonderful creation.

You don't want to miss what our designers have in store for you! If for some reason one of the links is broken along the Hop do not worry, HOP back over to QKR Stampede Blog -http://www.qkrstampede.blogspot.com/. The complete list will be posted there.

Pretty In Pink

Edited to add:
I was in such a hurry I didn't tell how I did this. I printed the image in pink. Since the printer ink is not permanent, I used my Tombow blending pen and picked up ink from the outline and colored in the flowers.

Here is my card for this week's Designed2Delight challenge.

I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my back/hip this week and have been slow in getting anything done. It is now fall break and hope to feel good enough to create like crazy. Ü

Fall Butterfly

Edited to add: Here is Melissa's card. I found out I've had this kit since April of 2008! YIKES!! I told ya it's been a long time.

This card was created with a kit package that I received a LONG time ago from my friend Melissa. I rec'd several card kits and am just now putting them together. I have no excuses for not having them done a long time ago as everything was pre-cut! I found them in my stash (while looking for my Nestibility circles that I still can't find) and decided it was time to get the cards made.

I don't know the company of the butterfly, but I love it and the colors of this patterned paper. She even sent the jewels! I sponged the vellum butterfly and cut it out. I only added adhesive to the middle to leave the wings free.

QKR Turkey Time

Not only is fall my favorite time of year, but Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the no pressure, no hassle feeling to the holiday.

Today, my card uses QKR Stampede's Thanksgiving Feast (see digi version here).

This is called a "tent" card. Just make a smaller base card and then add stamped shaped image to the top to fill the length of the card. This will fit into a regular shaped envelope like you mail bills in.

Grateful Notepads

This week Tombow is partnering with Bo Bunny. Oh my!!! We received an AWESOME package from Bo Bunny. I LOVE it! Part of it was fall and a HUGE part was Christmas. You will be seeing lots of projects with the wonderful papers and accessories we received.

This project is made with their new Olivia fall line.

I prepared a little tutorial for you, so that you can make these too.

Supplies:
5" x 8" Jr. Legal Pad cut in half lengthwise (this can be done at Office Max)
solid cardstock: 5.5" x 8 1/8"
patterned paper: 2.5" x 2", and various scraps 2.5" wide
Tombow Mono Adhesive permanent
embellishments: I used Bo Bunny cardstock stickers

Directions:
1. Score solid cardstock from long ends 2 5/8"

2. Add Mono Adhesive Permanent to 2.5" x 2" patterned paper and adhere to top of notepad.
3. Add Permanent Mono Adhesive to the back of notepad and adhere to inside right of scored cardstock.

4. Cut patterned paper pieces to 2.5" wide and adhere with Permanent Mono Adhesive to front of notepad cover.

5. Add sticker or other embellishments.

(note, the scalloped piece on the left notepad was some scrap left over from another project. It is not Bo Bunny paper, but matched perfectly, so I used it)

If you make one of these I would love to see it. Please post and let me know and send me a link to your blog or gallery.

Inky Beware

It's been awhile since I posted an Inky Antics card. This is one that I colored for their catalog. One day I took a bunch of scraps and made card fronts. Then I stitched where the papers met. This color was perfect for this cute Mousie.

The "Beware" sticker is one from a sheet I had a couple of years ago.

Pocket Folder Journal Tutorial

This is the new Friday freebie from Faith of Designed2Delight. She designed this in honor of the challenges going on each day at SCS for the Hope You Can Cling To for breast cancer.

I have family and friends who have not only faced breast cancer, but other cancers. 5 years ago, I had a brain tumor (benign and I'm doing fine, had a scare a few weeks ago, but it wasn't a tumor again, just after affects still from the surgery) and something that helped me get through the storm was journaling. So when I first saw these images I knew I had to make a journal.

This journal is quick and easy to make. I can't remember where I first saw this idea, but I tweaked it a bit and have been making them for some time now.

Supplies:
pocket folder
8" x 5" Jr. legal pad
patterned paper to decorate folder
embellishments (opt)
stamped image
ribbon
Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent

Directions:
1. Cut pocket folder in half on crease line
2. With short edge along paper cutter edge, cut at 8.25"  (away from bottom edge)
3. With long edge along paper cutter edge, cut at 10.5" (away from pocket end) and then score at 5 1/8" and again at 5 5/16"

4. Cut the pocket edge down as show in the picture below. This is where your notepad will fit.

5. Cut patterned paper piece 5" x 2" and cover bound edge of notepad and insert notepad over cut flap.

6. Decorate front as desired.

7. Apply adhesvie to ribbon to the front of folder and wrap around back and tie at side.

8. You can also decorate front inside flap.

Note: One folder will make 2 notepad journals. The "pocket" will just be on the other side. When the pocket is on the left, I cut it at an angle and add a couple of paper clips. Notes and etc can be tucked inside the pocket. Then I add adhesive to the back of the notepad to hold it inside.

D2D Freebie Flowers

This week's freebie from Designed2Delight is this flower image. You got the flower image free if you are playing along each week with Faith. If you missed it you can get it here in this wonderful Willow Whimsy set.

Benjamin comes home tomorrow. WOOHOO!!! I have some things preposted for my blog as I will be spending as much time with him as I can. I am sad that his fall break isn't the same as ours and I will have to be at work, but this way he can spend time with his dad and maybe they can find a car!

Pumpkin Treat Bag

Happy Wednesday to you all! Can you tell I am having a wonderful week? Ü My son is coming home from college and we will all be home together for a few days before he goes back. I can't wait!

I love these simple little treat bags. I first saw how to  do this on Splitcoaststampers and am going to do a little tutorial for those of you who like to see steps.

1. Supply list:
mini paper bag cut down to 4.5" tall - mine measures 4 1/8" x 7.75"(you can do this with any size, but will need to cut your papers to fit your bag)
2 solid cardstock 4 1/8" x 6"
1 patterned paper piece 4 1/8" x 4 1/8"
Slot paper punch
ribbon
design element (optional)
Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent

Directions:
1. Adhere patterned paper to front of one solid piece

2. Apply adhesive to back of ribbon and place at top edge of patterned paper, wrapping edges to the back

3. Apply adhesive to one side of paper sack and adhere to back of front panel

4. Adhere adhesive to back of paper bag and lining up 2nd piece of solid cardstock, adhere to bag

5. Punch "handle" to center top of solid cardstock (tip: from the piece cut from the top of the bag, punch oval shape. With a tiny bit of adhesive, adhere to front where you want opening and punch again through front and back pieces)

6. Add design element (I used a sticker from Imaginations)

7. Fill with goodies and give away Ü

Friendship Willows

This is my second post today, so be sure to scroll down for my QKR pumpkin card in case you missed it.

Today is Digital Tuesday and my friend Michelle is the hostess. AND Designed2Delight is the sponsor. So I just HAD to play! Ü I love willow trees and these images that Faith designed are so fun and whimsical. Plus the challenge is sewing (faux or real), so I REALLY had to play along.

I had intended to sew by machine on my card and then came across a sheet of different stitched rub-ons and decided to give them a try. I've had this sheet for so long I don't even remember where it came from! It was definitely time to use them.

The flower strip below the sentiment was also on that sheet and matched the little flowers in the tree. The papers are from K & Company. I love their vintage paper pads.

Do you like the scallop ends to the sentiment? I put it in my oval scallop punch and punched it. I like it so much, I'm going to do this again.

QKR Tuesday

Hello friends! I am LOVING this fall weather. I need to get to a pumpkin patch though before it's over. Maybe I can talk the boys into going this weekend. OR maybe I can go while they go watch the football game. Ü Benjamin is coming home this weekend thru Tuesday for fall break. It's a great week!

Okay, got side-tracked. Here is the pumpkin image from QKR Stampede. You can purchase the stamp here or the digi image here. Be sure to stop by the blog for lots of inspiration too.
I've been on a black kick lately and really like it with this image. The one loop bow was suppose to be a knot, but I liked how this looked, so left it.

Sweet Clover

I love this new image from Designed2Delight. This image comes in a set or by itself. It is clover and I love all the images that have been colored in other colors than green, but I wanted to color it a clover green and I love how this turned out.

Apple Notepad

Apple season is upon us. While we didn't have the best crop, we will still get a few gallon of cider from what we do have.

When I saw these cute apple notepads, I knew I would have to make some covers for them. When I saw the pencil on the side, I even knew what papers I was going to use. Then when I saw Faith's digi freebie this week, I knew it was perfect for my notepad cover. Be sure to hurry over, because it is only free thru tomorrow at midnite. Then create with it and post on her blog via Mr. Linky here and you will get a new freebie in your e-mail on Friday.

I love this paper by Cosmo Cricket! (I think I've said that before Ü). The pencil and ledger is from The Boyfriend line and is double sided and called Homework. The polka dots is from their Early Bird line called Farmer's Market.

I printed "just a note" with my computer on the ledger side of the paper and got lucky that it lined up on the lines! Bet I couldn't do that again! LOL!!

Apples are colored with Copics and I used Tombow's Mono Adhesive Power Bond to put it together.

Patches the Scarecrow

This might not be his real name, but he just looked like a "Patches" to me. Ü This is my first card as part of my new stint on QKR Stampede's DT. I am excited to be a part of this team and will be posting every Tuesday here using a QKR design.

You can buy this stamp here or it's also available as a digi image here.
and here is a peek at the inside:
The sentiment is created on the computer using Creating Keepsakes' Ali's Hand font. You can download it for free here.

Happy Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year! The sumac is turning a beautiful barn red, the wild yellow flowers (almost look like mini sunflowers) are so lovely in the ditches on my way to work. I need to take my camera and "stop and photo the flowers"! Ü

It is "apple season" here. That means we have started to cider our apples. I will also be making some apple jelly, apple cinnamon rolls, crisps, muffins, etc.

There are so many fun fall digi images out there to create with. Designed2Delight has this lovely new apple basket image that is so fun and easy to color.

When I get stuck in a rut with card designs, I like to pop in at Splitcoaststampers and view their sketch challenges. I found this sketch here and it worked perfectly with the papers I wanted to use.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for World Card Making Day! Lot of fun stuff going on. Ü
