PCS Monthly Challenge ~ Ribbon

It is time for Pretty Cute Stamps' monthly challenge and this month it is a simple challenge...use ribbon. Every month Pretty Cute Stamps has a card/project challenge where you can play along for a chance to win some prizes.

I used a stamp set I hadn't broken into yet...Chick with Brains. I had planned to add a sentiment, and then decided to wait as I may need it for birthday, just because, etc later on.

I am also sad to say that this is my last post for Pretty Cute Stamps. I had so much fun creating with these images and the gals on the design team have been awesome to work with! Thank you Lisa, for the chance to create with your designs.

Here is the stamp set that I used. You can click on them and it will take you to the store:

Now we would love to have you play along! Check out the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team created. You have until March 12th to enter your own project using ribbon and Pretty Cute Stamps image for the challenge for a chance to win.

PCS February 2016 Sneak Peek Day 1 + Freebie

It's my turn get to share a project for today's sneak peek of new sets coming out this month for Pretty Cute Stamps.

One of my goals this year is to do everything I can to lose some weight. I had seen a project like this on Pinterest and knew I wanted to make it as a visual, but hadn't done it yet. Then Lisa designed the perfect stamp set "The New You" with a scale stamp as well as other images and I knew that this would be perfect for this project.

I stamped the scale twice on white cardstock and cut with a circle die. I then stamped the image again twice onto designer paper and cut out and adhered to the white circles and then onto scalloped cut circles. Aftery tying them to a jar, I filled them with clear 1/2 circle bubbles. It's easy to see the "to go", but in the "lost" there are 8. My goal is 5 lbs/month. I'm hoping it's doable...so far, so good.

Don't forget to stop by the PCS blog to see what my fellow DT members designed with the new sets they received.

Here is today's freebie. Head over to the PCS blog for info on how to get this. Remember this is only available for free today. If you miss out, you can always purchase it in the store tomorrow.

PCS Monthly Challenge ~ Love

It is time for Pretty Cute Stamps' monthly challenge and this month it is all about love! Every month Pretty Cute Stamps has a card/project challenge where you can play along for a chance to win some prizes.

I don't have a lot of stamp sets, so had to be creative with what I did have and I came up with this cute card using Doggone It! and Fur Baby.

The sentiment is from Doggone It! and the heart is from Fur Baby. There is a sentiment in Fur Baby that says "I ♥ My". I just colored the ♥ with a black Tombow marker and stamped it on the ends of the sentiment strip. The dog is colored with Tombow Irojiten colored pencils.

Here are the 2 stamps sets that I used. You can click on them and it will take you to the store:

Now we would love to have you play along! Check out the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team created. You have until February 6th to enter your own project with a {love} theme and Pretty Cute Stamps image for the challenge for a chance to win.

Totally Rad

I'm over on Pretty Cute Stamps' blog today. Pretty Cute Stamps has a new stamp set that came out this month called "Totally Rad". This fun stamp set has lots of fun images reminiscent of the 80's. I was needing a birthday card and I thought this set would be perfect. I even had some fun "rad" paper that I wanted to use with it. The papers may be more 70's, but I put them together any way.
I colored directly onto the glasses stamp with a Tombow marker and I like how it looks like there is a glare on the glasses.

Pumpkin Bread Basket

Happy Thanksgiving! Since this is preposted, I'm not sure what we will be doing for Thanksgiving this year. I usually have it here, but my side of the family is just out growing our home and it doesn't seem fair for the littles to not be able to run around (and for the adults to deal with all the noise). Plans are to go to my niece's on DH's side, but there is bad weather in the forecast, so we will just have to see.

I am sharing over on the Pretty Cute Stamps' blog today. I created this fun little basket from cardstock. Basket idea and how to make can be found here. I used the sentiment from Thanksgiving Eats. Can you tell this is one of my favorite sets?!

Inside the basket is a mini loaf of pumpkin bread. I love how it fits perfectly in there! I lined the bottom with wax paper and then used 2 kraft colored coffee filters, before setting the bread in. I will wrap the bread in clear plastic wrap before gifting.

Don't forget, starting Dec 6th, Lori Hairston and a few of her friends will be posting some fun projects for Visions of Sugarplums 2015 with Christmas/Winter in mind. I can't wait to see what everyone designs. You don't want to miss this!

PCS Monthly Challenge ~ Gift Giving

The PCS design team is showcasing some quick and easy gift ideas as Christmas is sneaking up on us.

So it is only appropriate that this month's theme is Gift Giving. (Every month Pretty Cute Stamps has a card/project challenge where you can play along for a chance to win some prizes.)

I created a mini notepad using 2 stamps sets: Currently (sentiment) and Cool Chick (penguin). I have made so many of these, that I have lost count (as in over 100!). They are quick and easy to make and make a fun gift. We all make notes of some kind, be it grocery list, reminders, etc. And they are a fun size to tuck into your purse.

Now we would love to have you play along! Check out the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team created. You have until December 12th to enter your own project within the theme "gift giving" and using Pretty Cute Stamps image for the challenge for a chance to win.

Hello November!

It's my turn  to share a project on Pretty Cute Stamps' blog. I created this card using Thanksgiving Eats. I can't believe it's already November! We are having such beautiful fall weather and I'm loving it. Normally by now it's freezing every day and most likely we've had snow a time or two by now.

I used the pumpkin from Thanksgiving Eats to create this miscellaneous card. I really like making cards that don't have sentiments on them, so when a certain occasion arises, I have a card I can use and add the appropriate sentiment.

I paper-pieced the pumpkin and then adhered it to a die cut image that has 3 layers for a chipboard look.

I like using orange and turquoise together and love the burlap designer paper to give it texture without too much bulk.

**on a sad note, our family has been struggling after receiving a call Sunday that our great nephew passed away. Elijah was only 16 and loved my boys BIG. He died of a blood clot in the lung. Please keep our families in your prayers, esp his mom, siblings, and grandparents.

PCS Thanksgiving Eats

I am loving this fall weather we are having! With fall in the air, I have created a fun little pumpkin purse for you using Thanksgiving Eats by Pretty Cute Stamps. I just love the little pumpkin in this set.

I used this tutorial on making the purse, but cut my cardstock base 9" x 9" and then scored at 3" and 6" and followed the rest of the instructions.
The topper is a Nestibilities die. I cut two of them and glued them together to give the flap more support. I adhered the back to the center back of the "purse" and added 1/2 of a Fastener Tab from Tombow. I love that these are so thin and have very little bulk.

The velvet ribbon handle is adhered to the topper with mini brads. To me velvet just says "fall" and I love the extra texture to the project.
To create the pumpkin "button" closure, I stamped the pumpkin first onto the cream designer paper and colored the stem and leaf with Dual Brush Pens by Tombow, then stamped it again on 2 different designer papers.

I paper pieced those and then punched with a circle punch and punched 2 more on plain cardstock and adhered them all together. I knew I would need the sturdiness the bulk gave it as this is what will be open and closing the flap and I didn't want it to tear.

Here is a peek (although a bit blurry, sorry about that) of what it looks like opened. Now off to find some goodies to fit inside it.
