Pumpkin Bread Basket

Happy Thanksgiving! Since this is preposted, I'm not sure what we will be doing for Thanksgiving this year. I usually have it here, but my side of the family is just out growing our home and it doesn't seem fair for the littles to not be able to run around (and for the adults to deal with all the noise). Plans are to go to my niece's on DH's side, but there is bad weather in the forecast, so we will just have to see.

I am sharing over on the Pretty Cute Stamps' blog today. I created this fun little basket from cardstock. Basket idea and how to make can be found here. I used the sentiment from Thanksgiving Eats. Can you tell this is one of my favorite sets?!

Inside the basket is a mini loaf of pumpkin bread. I love how it fits perfectly in there! I lined the bottom with wax paper and then used 2 kraft colored coffee filters, before setting the bread in. I will wrap the bread in clear plastic wrap before gifting.

Don't forget, starting Dec 6th, Lori Hairston and a few of her friends will be posting some fun projects for Visions of Sugarplums 2015 with Christmas/Winter in mind. I can't wait to see what everyone designs. You don't want to miss this!

PCS Monthly Challenge ~ Gift Giving

The PCS design team is showcasing some quick and easy gift ideas as Christmas is sneaking up on us.

So it is only appropriate that this month's theme is Gift Giving. (Every month Pretty Cute Stamps has a card/project challenge where you can play along for a chance to win some prizes.)

I created a mini notepad using 2 stamps sets: Currently (sentiment) and Cool Chick (penguin). I have made so many of these, that I have lost count (as in over 100!). They are quick and easy to make and make a fun gift. We all make notes of some kind, be it grocery list, reminders, etc. And they are a fun size to tuck into your purse.

Now we would love to have you play along! Check out the wonderful projects the rest of the Design Team created. You have until December 12th to enter your own project within the theme "gift giving" and using Pretty Cute Stamps image for the challenge for a chance to win.

With Gratitude

With Thanksgiving just a week away, I thought it would be fun to create a mini notepad for my Cutting Cafe project this week. The design team is creating with this one set called With GratitudeThis printable stamp set includes 75 images...the set includes the following:
10 colored scallops
18 phrases...(9 in color and 9 in black and white)...LARGE
Same 18 phrases above come......SMALL
10 backgrounds...(all approx. 9.5 by 7 Inches)
19 sentiments

I used the word background image shrunk 75%, the stripe image, one of the circle images and then a scallop image that I just using my own scallop punch for a smaller scallop and so that it would match the colors in the background images.
This notepad could be used to keep a journal of all the things one is grateful for throughout the year.

Be sure to visit the Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of every month to see the design team's projects in which you can leave a comment to be entered into a drawing to win 3 FREE sets of your choice from the online store.

Hello November!

It's my turn  to share a project on Pretty Cute Stamps' blog. I created this card using Thanksgiving Eats. I can't believe it's already November! We are having such beautiful fall weather and I'm loving it. Normally by now it's freezing every day and most likely we've had snow a time or two by now.

I used the pumpkin from Thanksgiving Eats to create this miscellaneous card. I really like making cards that don't have sentiments on them, so when a certain occasion arises, I have a card I can use and add the appropriate sentiment.

I paper-pieced the pumpkin and then adhered it to a die cut image that has 3 layers for a chipboard look.

I like using orange and turquoise together and love the burlap designer paper to give it texture without too much bulk.

**on a sad note, our family has been struggling after receiving a call Sunday that our great nephew passed away. Elijah was only 16 and loved my boys BIG. He died of a blood clot in the lung. Please keep our families in your prayers, esp his mom, siblings, and grandparents.
