Last QKR Post

Today is my last post as a Design Team member for QKR Stampede. Maribeth also owns Biblical Impressions and Eureka! stamps and invited me to stay on. I agreed to work with Biblical Impressions line and my first post will be Friday for our first Biblical Impressions blog hop.

For this card I stamped in black and embossed with QKR's Large Roses stamp. This image is 4.5" x 4.5". I stamped it on Georgia Pacific white paper and colored with Tombow Dual Brush Tip markers and blending pen.

Papers are from My Mind's Eye and ribbon is some that my bestest online friend Michelle sent me. The color was PERFECT!

By coloring and blending on paper that isn't watercolor paper you get a little bit of "peeling" with the paper. I love how this give texture to the flowers and makes them look real!

The colors I used from left to right are: 025, 873, 925,491, 243, 192, 158, N00

My card is 5.5" square.

Bouquet of Flowers

Hello! It felt so good to finally finish this card up yesterday. My new "poke" is in my arm and not on my hand, so I can create...YAY!!! Now if I just didn't get tired so easy. Ü

This card I am sharing with you is one I started for QKR's flower blog hop. If you missed it, be sure to go here for the details and see all the lovelies the DT created for the hop.

I used QKR's 16220 Bouquet rubber stamp. I stamped the image with permanent black ink and colored with Tombow markers and blending pen. The papers I used are from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose line.

QKR Bunny

This image is the same as this one that I created, but without the Happy Easter. the name of the image is Happy Easter by QKR Stampede. It's very easy to remove the sentiment in Paint when you use their digital image.

I used more lovely paper by My Mind's Eye, one of my crocheted flowers and some vintage rayon binding.

I used Tombow's Stamp Runner for the paper and Power Tab for the flower/button.

QKR Pink Button Flowers

My card for QKR Stampede today uses a digital image called "Flowers". I added dimensional magic to the center of the flowers and then the Basic Grey buttons to go with the flowers' button center theme. I also used Basic Grey papers for the card front.

The image was colored with Tombow's Irojiten colored pencils and blended with Gamsol.

Slow and Steady

While our theme is "slow and steady", this is a quick and easy card to make. I have used two images for my card. Digi Turtle for the front

and Digi If a Turtle for the inside.

I used Basic Grey papers and I am going to use this card for a graduation card for one of my students.

QKR Tuesday

Today is my turn to host a project on QKR Stampede and I have a fun idea for you for using QKR's digital images. I used digi Love Bear for this card and changed the heart to a clover.

There is probably an easier way to do this, but I am still learning. Here is how I did it.

1. I opened the image up in Paint and cut out the heart on the bear and saved him in my files.

2. Then I opened him up in Inkscape.

3. I opened the image with the heart back up in Paint and copied the heart.

4. I went back to Inkscape and pasted the heart and resized it. Then I pasted 2 more hearts and rotated them where I wanted them and saved to my files.

5. Then I went back to Paint and opened him there and with the drawing tool, drew the stem and saved him once again as "clover bear".

This is a great way to get more for your money with the digital stamps.

Happy Birthday to Moo

I just love this Party Cow image from QKR Stampede. I grew up on a dairy farm and this image will be perfect for cards for all the guys in my family. This one is going to my brother in April.

I got the layout idea from a CTMH catalog of a scrapbook page. I liked the circle of circles.Mine are 1/2" punched circles.  I added the stitched "x's" in embroidery floss and used gray papers from a discontinued paper pack from SU! The red was some I had in my scrap stash that I am trying to dwindle down.

I colored the image with Tombow Dual Brush Pens: red #856, gray #N95, and flesh #850.

The inside says "Happy Birthday to Moo"

QKR Tuesday

This little Hug Me boy just makes me smile. I used Basic Grey papers from their Marjolaine line which is PERFECT for making guy cards.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love yesterday. As I was trying to figure out what to make to go with the pizza, Aaron asked if we could rent a movie. I said that would be a fun new tradition to add and make new memories and he says in his dry humor way under his breath "yeah as we lose some memories too". Only those that know Aaron can see the humor in that.

Here are a few goodies I made for DH and Aaron:

Homemade heart shaped pizza

Strawberry Crepes. I made the chocolate hearts by melting some chocolate in a plastic bag and cutting a tiny hole in the corner and squeezing out a heart shape onto wax paper. Let harden and you have a fun little accent.

I knew as soon as I posted this (in a rush as I was headed to work) that my friend Gail would e-mail me for the recipe. Ü

Whole Wheat Crepes:

3 eggs

1 c. milk

2/3 c. wheat flour

1/4 tsp salt

Beat eggs and milk in a bowl. Add flour and salt: beat with shisk until smooth. Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight. Brush 8" pan with a little butter. Warm pan over medium heat. Pour 2 T. batter into pan, tilt quickly to coat bottom evenly (crepes should be lightly golden, but not brown). Do not turn. Stack crepes between sheets of wax paper. Refrigerate until cool and then fill with whipped topping and your favorite fruit.

*I was out of whole wheat so just used regular white flour for these, but I do make the whole wheat ones more often.

Love Bear

It's QKR Tuesday (all that means is that I try to upload my QKR card/projects on Tues Ü) and this cute image is called "Love Bear". This is a digital image, but you can also get him in rubber.

This past weekend I just made up a bunch of cards with scraps and then will add images to them as I make cards. This is one of those cards. All I had to do was print the image, color him, mount him and add some punched photo corners. I colored him with colored pencils and gamsol and used my gray Copic for some shadowingl. I drew in the line to give him something to stand on so it doesn't look like he is floating.

QKR Stampede Angel

I love this cute angel called Angel Wishes! I used scraps to create the card base, then sewed along the "seams". This is a digi image (you can also get the same image in rubber), so I could remove her mouth (that looks like she is singing) with my Paint program. That's one of the cool things about digi images is that you can get so many more uses with them.

She is colored with Copics and colored pencils and gamsol. I glittered her wings and the star and added brads.

Let It Snow Coaster

Good Morning! Yesterday it was back to work/school for Aaron and me. Neither of us were ready to give up our vacation. Ü We had lots of fun playing games and just being together as a family.

Today for my QKR Stampede project, I have made a coaster. My LSS carries these 4" coasters and I have several of them. I used the digital image Snowman Scene, shrunk it down to fit my coaster and colored with Copic.

I cut a piece of Basic Grey paper to fit my coaster and adhered with Tombow's Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. Then I adhered my image. On the back I cut a piece of cork and adhered it with the same glue. It's not shown in the picture, but I will add a piece of clear contact paper to the image front to protect it.

This with a mug and some hot chocolate would make a wonderful gift.

Tooth Fairy Tin

Today for my QKR Stampede project, I have a fun little tooth fairy tin to show you made with a generic brand altoid tin. I covered the top and side with paper using Tombow's Mono Adhesive Power Bond (love that stuff!) and then printed this QKR digi image Tooth Fairy. I like the digi images for projects like this. I can shrink or enlarge them to fit whatever project I want to make. This image was shrunk to a 2" width.

Using the Mono Adhesive Power Bond again, I adhered ribbon to the lid edge. I used Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to the wings to add glitter and to the buttons, coin and teeth by itself to add shine. It works as a crystal effects type of product. Love that!

Snowy Red Barn

Can you tell I love this image by QKR Stampede? Ü I have some new images coming soon, so you will get to see what fun challenge we have set for December.

This layout is pretty simple as I wanted to be able to mass produce these.

Wintery Barn

I really like this Snowy Barn by QKR Stampede. The swirly paper reminds me of what it looks like here when we have a blizzard.

It's hard to see in the photo, but there is lots of glitter to make the snow sparkle.

I created this notepad using this Shepherd image. This reminds me of when the boys were little and played a shepherd in the Christmas program.

I used a clear sticker for "reflect". I was thinking that is one used this for a Christmas wish list or shopping list that it would be good to "reflect" on the true meaning of Christmas during all the hustle and bustle of shopping.

Perfect Christmas Tree take 2. Here is my second take on QKR's primitive tree image.

Here is a cute QKR Stampede primitive tree that reminds me of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. It's called The Perfect Christmas Tree (digi image here)

I used up some Basic Grey scraps I had to make the card base, some of my vintage ribbon and lace and a clear word sticker that had come in a mail as a freebie. I added glitter to the star and Diamond Glaze to the ornments.
