Trying to get caught up on sharing the showers. Dr. Seuss themed was last Friday. This was another super fun shower I helped host! This shower was #6 in the line up of showers I have going on this year. This one was for a sweet gal that is having a baby boy. Her husband was my oldest son's roommate in college and she is a dear friend of my son's wife.
I went with a Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat theme with red and turquoise for the colors. This was a fun shower on a budget as my teacher DIL had a lot of fun Dr. Seuss items from school when they celebrate Dr. Seuss week.
I remembered my camera this time! First off though are the invitations that I made. I found a free Dr. Seuss border (link below post) and opened it up in MSWord and then added the info to it.
I have lots of pictures to share. I want to show you first what the tin cans altered looked like when I started them. After making 2 of them, I decided it looked to "jail-ish"...weird I know, but it was just too many stripes.
Here is what they looked like with wider stripes.I thought this looked more Cat in the Hat-ish. LOL
Tess can't have any gluten, so all the food is gluten free. I didn't know you could get pretzels and bread bite things gluten free! They were very good! All the food had names from Dr. Seuss books.
Blank border for invites and sign in sheet

This is the same border I used for the invites. Just enlarged it and added lines for guests to sign in.

New Blue Goo: aka Blue Hawaiin Punch
Red Fish, Blue Fish...red Swedish fish and gummy blue whale candy. The cute serving dish is one I found at Hobby Lobby. 66% off the lowest price, so it was a dollar and a few cents. Same as the one above on the sign in table that I used for those who just brought cards.
Truffula Sticks: aka celery and broccoli
The pretzels and bagel bites, didn't have a name. One of the hostess just brought them because they were gluten free and thought they went with what we were having. The pretzels were honey mustard. So yummy! She also brought a spinach/kale dip. Oh my! So very good.
Green Eggs and Ham. Some of the eggs had guacamole and the others just dyed deviled eggs.
In the background; Yertle Turtles aka turtle candy...pretzel (gluten free), rolo, and pecan
Brown Ba Loot Truffula Fruit
Hop on Pop: Caramel Popcorn & Big Red Popcorn
