How sweet is this deer?! Alot sweeter than the ones that come into our yard and eat our apples off the trees! LOL!
This too is a new Inky Antic image released this summer.

No Butts About It
Love this sentiment and polar bear by Inky Antics.
Today after church we are going to Mom and Dad's to celebrate my niece's birthday.
Yesterday we went to Kearney to get tires for the car since we are making a long trip on Tuesday and didn't want to take a chance of having a flat tire. If any of you are looking for cars, Ford Focus' is VERY hard on tires! We are always buying new tires for this car.

Hi
I think this is the last of the new cats and dogs images that I made cards for Inky Antics for CHA.
Here are a couple of pictures with my cat and dog cards AT CHA. Thank you Michelle for taking pictures and sending them to me.
On a personal note, thank you for all the well wishes, e-mails and prayers. I am having an MRI on Tuesday in Lincoln and will let you all know what I find out.

Sittin' & Thinkin'
New image from Inky Antics.
School is going good so far. I have a great bunch of students again this year.
I am having some ear pain issues and have to have an MRI. Please pray it's not serious. I am told they think it's related to my incision from my brain tumor surgery.

Season the Day
I just love these girl chef images from Inky Antics. Maybe it's because I love to cook and bake, but they are just too cute.
Today is the first day of school for Aaron and me. I will be working with High School resource students again this year. Along with all the math classes I will be in Speech and freshman English (split for the week as we are short on paras this year due to a larger number of students we are working with).
I look forward to meeting my students that will be new to me (the freshmen and any new to our school students).
Today is going to be a tough one as this is the first time in 18 years that we haven't spent Benjamin's birthday with him.
When we took him to college last week, we left gifts for him to be able to open today as well as a gift card to Pizza Hut for him and his friends and he is to pick up a cake at Safeway that I prepaid for him.
I am looking forward to calling him tomorrow to wish him a Happy Birthday!

What's Up Dawg
I preposted several posts for while we were gone to include today and see that they all worked except for today's. Not sure what happened but here is what I had ready to go live this morning...
Here is another cute new dog image from Inky Antics.
We should be home by now from taking Benjamin to college. School will start Monday for Aaron and me (actually started Thursday, but we will have missed the first 2 days to take Benjamin to college) and as soon as I can I will post about our first college experience.

See you 'coon
Well we should have gotten home in the wee hours of the morning this morning from taking Benjamin to college. I am preposting this as I will be going on a surprise ladies day out if I got enough sleep. Ü I will have to keep you posted where we (ladies) went.
This card is made with one of Inky Antics new stamps from their Forest Friends line.

Feels like fall
We have been having beautiful fall weather the past few days. The sumac is even turning red. I LOVE fall! We've been able to shut the air conditioner off and have the windows open. Wonderful!
This digi image is from designed2delight and is perfect for the kind of weather we're having here. I colored the image with Copics and colored pencils/gamsol. Papers are Basic Grey.

No Bones About It
Tired of the new cat and dog images from Inky Antics? Hope not, because I have more to show you. Ü I just love the colors in this Max & Whiskers paper by Basic Grey.
Today was a work day for teachers and paras. I got a list of the students I will be working with, met with the teachers and got the books I will be needing as I won't be there Thursday and Friday.
I'm not ready for Benjamin to go to college, but am glad I have work to keep me busy and occupied.
DH and Benjamin went to South Dakota to look at cars for Benjamin. I am hoping they come home with one!

Doggone Great Day
New image by Inky Antics.
Yesterday after church we went and looked at a car for Benjamin, SURE that they would accept our offer...NOPE! We are sooooo running out of time. He may be going to college with no car at this rate. Guess he doesn't really need one there.

Beary Sweet
Faith at Designed2Delight had this cute digi image up for free in a challenge. I combined her challenge with SCS's sketch challenge for this week. I haven't played in one of those challenges for a long time. It was fun to color up this bear. I don't like my sponging on the edges. I wished I would have done something different now. Oh well.

New Inky Antics
WOOHOO! The new Inky Antics catalog is now available. See all the colored images on the front (as well as inside)? I colored ALL of them except for the penguins. This is so much fun to see my artwork in "print". May be the closest I come to being published. LOL!
All of the cards and projects inside were designed by myself and my friend Michelle. Boy were we busy! We had so much fun chatting online and on the phone keeping the other on track as we met our deadline.
Thanks for letting me brag a bit. Here are some boxes I made that you can see in the catalog. They are made with Inky's box stamps and Christmas Tag Trio & Snowy's Treat stamps and Tombow adhesives.

Mommy & Me Bookmark Project
It is my turn to create a project for Tombow's Tot challenge. With my boys being older this is truly a "challenge" for me to think very young again. Ü
The "mommy" part comes from using an exacto knife to cut out the heart center. The original pattern called for fabric to show thru the heart. That's what I did here.
I think it would be fun to put a child's school picture behind the heart and give to a grandparent who loves to read or even for themselves. You could also have the child draw a picture that would show thru the heart.
My "baby" is 15, but I had him make one (as he is ALWAYS needing a bookmark) to show how that would work. As you can see, he is VERY talented!
He even "drew" the wording for his bookmark and came up with it himself. It has a double meaning. "Tight" as in the boy tightly fits in the heart opening and "tight" as when you shut the book. Clever huh? Ü
This fun bookmark would make a great "Mommy & Me" project. My boys are teens now with one off to college very soon, but the next time my nephew comes over, I think we might make one of these together.

I used Tombow's Mono Glue Stick and it worked perfectly. I wanted to make sure it would since I plan to try this with my 4 year old nephew some time. Obviously the Mono Adhesives would work as well.

Fun time with Friends!
Oh my goodness! I had a blast Saturday. Gail Slagle and I went to Norfolk to meet and visit our on line friend Pam Speidel for the first time IRL! What a blast!
Pam was a gracious hostess and showed us around her lovely home. I loved her smiley collection. I wish I would have remembered my camera!
She fixed us a lovely lunch and we had such a wonderful time visiting, laughing, sharing tips, laughing, some stamping, and more laughing.
Thank you Pam for the wonderful day. I can not believe how FAST the time flew! Gail and I are already planning to come next summer. Ü

Altered Chest of Drawers
This is an altered wood box from Hobby Lobby that I made for my friend Michelle.
She likes this color of blue and dark brown. I painted the wood box, then cut paper to fit the top, sides and drawers.
I also painted the handles. They were originally black.
The feet are little knobs that I painted and glued to the chest of drawers. They don't come with the chest.
I even cut paper and adhered to the inside of the drawers. After all the paper is adhered, I modge podged the whole chest.
This is the top. I added a deep burgundy flower that matches the bird in the paper.
I used Tombow liquid glue to adhere the paper.

Be Inspired
Joanna challenged the DT to a different kind of inspiration challenge. She sent a picture to one member and they made an item from it using it as their inspiration. Then sent that project picture to the next member and she created a project from it and etc. Go to Tombow's blog to see all the inspriation.
Here is the project created by April that I was sent for my inspiration project.
The inspiration I pulled from her bookmark, was the Basic Grey paper, the long shape of the project (I altered a toilet paper tube), I used a lacy scallop punch for inspiration from the fringe and a flower for the oval.

Vintage Stationary Box
Here is another Stationary Box that I just finished. I don't know why I waited so long to make these. I am starting on another one now for a benefit auction.
They really do make up pretty quick and make the nicest gifts. Here is the inside.
I didn't think the recipient would really use tags on anything so I cut down a sticky note pad and fit it in the smaller slot.
These are the small notecards:
and here are the A2 cards:
I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond to make the box and Mono Adhesive permanent for the rest of the project.
Papers are K & Company and ribbon is vintage rayon seam binding.
