Tombow Guest Designer + Cutting Cafe + Pinned It Made It

I have a huge post today! I am combining Tombow's Guest Designer post with this week's Cutting Café post and Pinned It Made It Monday as they all go together!

This last week of October, Tombow is blog hopping with Kim Watson. She creates some AMAZING scrapbook pages, so be sure to check out her blog! Tombow is also giving away a prize and one of the prizes is MONO Adhesive Removable (along with a refill and Power Bond adhesive).

There has been some talk about how the removable adhesive does not stay stuck. That is because it isn't suppose to. This is a great product for scrappers, esp like me who take forever to decide a layout! I can adhere the removable adhesive to my elements and then move them around til I find a layout design that I like. THEN I add Mono Adhesive PERMANENT to the elements to stick them down.

Today I want to show you a couple of other ways that I use the removable adhesive. I created some acorn coasters from a pin that I saw here:
source: Seasonedhomemaker

and knew I could create something similar with Cutting Cafe's Acorn Shaped Card template. Here are mine:

I cut a front and back of the whole acorn pattern from printed fabric, muslin (the back) and cotton batting. Then I cut the brown top. I used MONO Adhesive Removable to the back of the brown to hold it to the top pieces while I zigzagged. This way I didn't have to use pins.

Then I adhered the MONO Adhesive Removable again to one end of my cut ribbon (for the stem)  and stuck the two ends together. I've tried holding two ends together with pins before and no matter how careful I am, the ribbons slip. MONO Adhesive Removable is perfect to correct the slipping problem and it isn't very tacky, so doesn't ruin my sewing needle.

Another way I love using MONO Adhesive Removable is shown below. I printed a full sheet from Cutting Cafe's Autumn-Fall Mini Words on computer paper (I will save this for future use until the paper is too used up to go thru the printer). Then I cut and used MONO Adhesive Removable behind the yellow scallop piece and adhered it over the words "so grateful". Ran it thru my printer again and then peeled off the yellow piece (because MONO Adhesive Removable has a low tack I can do this) and then rubbed off the adhesive, cut the words with Martha Stewart mini punch and tied it to the ribbon for my tag.

The tag uses Cutting Cafe's With Gratitude & Stripes Backgrounds and 3 scallops that I printed and cut and then adhered to a shipping tag with Mono Adhesive Dots Stamp Runner.

Whew! Are you still with me? Ü Now for the prize you can win:

  3. Great idea to use the removable adhesive to run things back through the printer. I have been using washi tape but will try this. I wasn't sure if the heat from printer would have an effect on the adhesive. Love your coasters! Thanks for the great ideas.
