Altered Candle Tutorial

With the holidays closing in on us, I wanted to show you a quick, easy and very affordable gift to make. This would be perfect for teachers, mail carriers, hostess gift or the best kind of gifts...just because.

Supplies:
candle in glass jar
patterned paper (I used Bo Bunny's Olivia)
ribbon
Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond
cardstock sticker (from Bo Bunny's Olivia line)
Opt: sewing machine

Directions:
1. Cut patterned paper to fit around candle jar
2. Sew around edges if desired
3. Apply Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond around edges of paper and adhere to jar

4. Tie ribbon around jar and knot; trim ends
5. Apply cardstock sticker to center of jar with ribbon knot to the side of sticker

Note: To finish off as a gift, add a little shredded paper inside cello bag and insert candle and tie shut with ribbon.

I like to have several little gifts like this ready for "whenever". Especially last minute hostess gifts or when I find out the day before that it is a teacher's birthday.

This candle cost me 75 cents. Add some fun papers, sticker and ribbon and you have a very affordable gift.
