Visions of Sugarplums ~ Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of Lori Hairston's Vision of Sugarplums blog hop! WOW! Wasn't yesterday's hop full of fun and inspiration?! If you came here from Greta Hess' blog, you are in the right place. If you are starting here, be sure to go to Lori's blog and get all the information you need to enter the wonderful prizes she has available. There are prizes for commenting and prizes for participating in her Christmas/Winter challenge.

Today's post is a fun gift to give that has a personal touch. I like to crochet dishcloths and try to have several on hand for when I need a little something. A few weeks before Thanksgiving, Bath and Body was having a HUGE sale and I ordered some fun scented hand soaps to go with my crocheted dishcloths to give as gifts as I need them.

I do a very simple dishcloth after trying several patterns. I found that if I crochet 27 and then half double crochet until it is square, I can get two dishcloths from one skein of cotton yarn. This variegated colored yarn went perfectly with this sun ripened strawberry soap.

Challenge Info:  The challenge is to create a project with a Christmas/Winter theme. You can go and get the details on how to enter HERE.   The prize is $25 gift certificate to Freckled Fawn.

Here is a list of the companies who are giving prizes:

  11. I love when you can add something homemade to a store bought gift. Makes it all that more special. From the pictures I can tell that the dishcloths are very nice. GREAT idea.
It has been ages since I have knit or crocheted. Cards and scrapbooking keep me way too busy.
