Inky Chicks

Sorry, I haven't been posting. I have been enjoying staying home and have been doing lots of cleaning. I have 3 bags ready to go to Goodwill next week.

We had my parents and two of my brothers and their families over for Memorial Day and BBQ'd. It was a nice and fun day.

Here are two cards that I made for Jackie @ Inky Antics to take to CHA earlier this year. I will be showing more of the cards I made for CHA this week as I work on more cards for her for Convention-won't show those til later this year. If you would like to order these chicks and more very cute Spring images from Inky Antics go here and scroll down to "Spring 2008 Supplement". You can download the supplement and see all the fun new images.

Ramblings and a birthday card

YAY!!!! School is out! I know some dread this as they lose their *free* time, but since I homeschool one there is no *free* time as such for me. Because Benjamin runs cross country, there is no time for ball games/sports as they would interfere with cross country training. So we get to stay HOME much more and that makes me happy. Ü

In woods class, Benjamin made me a dining room table. I love it!! He did an awesome job and it is soooo sturdy! It is kind of a Farmer's/Shaker style table-3 ft x 6 ft.

Right now, a nephew is staying with us for a week. He is between my boys, so that makes them all a year apart. They get along great and I have been able to get lots of cleaning done.

In amongst the cleaning, I needed a quick bd card, so used one of the images I had colored last week to make this quick card. Gail had asked about Gamsol. It can be purchased from http://www.inkyantics.com/ and comes with a tutorial on using it.

Boys in the Park album

Here is a children's board book I altered with pictures of my boys. I have some journaling to do that I will add to a few pages, but otherwise it is done. I wish I was keeping this!! It is for my MIL. Now I need to make ME one.

No one seems to believe that they are ornery when it comes to taking pictures, so I decided to add ALL the pictures to the album, so they know what I go thru getting good pictures out of them! Ü
The colors are so much richer and darker IRL.

Hello...

Did you all vote at the Primaries yesterday? I did and worked there. This is the first year I have done that. Of course working in Comstock with very little population is alot different than working in a city, but there were still quite a few people who came out that live out in the country that I had never seen before. Some came from 25 miles away and still have a Comstock address! The experience was very interesting and I learned alot.
I also got a lot of coloring done! I have a bag with colored pencils, Gamsol and stamped images that I have ready to go at all times. Then, whenever I have to sit and wait anywhere I can color. I colored 19 images!!! Now, I have to get some cards made!
There were 4 of us working and one of the other gals was asking about the Gamsol and how it worked. I let her use my images and showed her how to color and she had a blast. I think she got about 4-5 images done. She also is a card maker when she has time and chose a Inky Antic image with a kitty one it, that she colored gray. She has a niece that she is giving a baby kitty to when it's ready, so she is going to take a picture of the kitty and send it in the card with the IA kitty image to show her what's coming. How sweet is that?!
Today Aaron has a field trip, so we will be leaving after a bit for that. I don't have any stamped images to share, but do have some pictures to show you from the farm that show that maybe Spring is FINALLY here!!
This is a picture of our crab apple tree. It usually is in full bloom May 1st. This year it was two weeks late due to all the winter weather we've been having. I figured the snow and freezing temps killed it for this year. I love doing close-ups of the blossoms. Here is a close-up of the crab apple blossom.
This picture is of our blooming pear trees. The bees have been VERY busy the past few days. We have watched them out our front window as the buzz from bloom to bloom. We should have a wonderful crop this year.
We also have apple trees. I love the white tinged with pink blossoms. Here is a picture of our cherry tree blossoms.
These trees line our circle drive and right now it is beautiful with all the trees blooming. The apple trees to the inside of the circle drive, the pear trees to the inside of the other side of the drive going to our garage and the cherry trees line along the highway.

Mother's Day card

I hope all you mothers had a wonderful day yesterday. This weekend was a good one for me.

Saturday, Benjamin and I went to graduation and then to receptions of his friends and those we were invited to as a family. It was nice that several went together and we could hit several at one stop. When I graduated everyone had them at your home and you did lots of traveling.

For mother's day we went out to eat for Chinese. This is a treat as it is expensive and we rarely eat out. Aaron bought me a massage thingy that vibrates and gave me a back rub last nite. Benjamin bought me a box of chocolate turtles and a bag of trail mix-YUMMY!!!

Here is the card that I made for my mom. I forgot to scan the one I made my MIL, but will post later the album I made her of the boys.

Football scrapbook

Here is the scrapbook that I have been working on. The gal that commissioned me to do this found two large children's board books. All of the pages are mounted on the board pages, holes punched in the side and put together with clasp rings tied with ribbon.

I'm back!!!

WHEW! What a past week we had!
I finally have the scrapbook order done and that is such a good feeling. Took me longer to do that I thought it would.
Friday the trackmeet was cancelled due to SNOW!!!! MY calendar says it is SPRING but we were in a *WINTER* weather watch. Some places in NE got up to 30" I heard. Schools were closed due to blizzards. Just crazy! Today it is beautiful out and I hope the *winter* weather is behind us.

Even though the trackmeet was cancelled in Cozad, I still went there. Some ladies from the church went to Camp Comeca for a retreat. What a BEAUTIFUL camp!!!!!!! It was absolutely gorgeous! Of course when we got there early Friday evening we could hardly see to walk to our rooms, but then Saturday the sun came out, we got to hike and it was just beautiful!

What did you all do for May Day? Aaron made May baskets and we took them around Comstock and delivered mostly to the widows and Sr. Citizens. They all were so sweet to Aaron and he just beamed each time he delivered a *basket*-paper cup covered with patterned paper and filled with homemade kettle popcorn (DH's recipe) and candies.

This week is a little quieter. I have lots of stamping I need to get done and cards and goodies sent out to lots of people. Tonite is the Spring Sports Program and Thursday is District Trackmeet. Saturday is graduation and I babysit in the morning for my 2 yr old nephew.

I hope to be back to posting regularly now. In the next post I will show you the scrapbook I did.
