D2D Freebie Flowers

This week's freebie from Designed2Delight is this flower image. You got the flower image free if you are playing along each week with Faith. If you missed it you can get it here in this wonderful Willow Whimsy set.

Benjamin comes home tomorrow. WOOHOO!!! I have some things preposted for my blog as I will be spending as much time with him as I can. I am sad that his fall break isn't the same as ours and I will have to be at work, but this way he can spend time with his dad and maybe they can find a car!

Pumpkin Treat Bag

Happy Wednesday to you all! Can you tell I am having a wonderful week? Ü My son is coming home from college and we will all be home together for a few days before he goes back. I can't wait!

I love these simple little treat bags. I first saw how to  do this on Splitcoaststampers and am going to do a little tutorial for those of you who like to see steps.

1. Supply list:
mini paper bag cut down to 4.5" tall - mine measures 4 1/8" x 7.75"(you can do this with any size, but will need to cut your papers to fit your bag)
2 solid cardstock 4 1/8" x 6"
1 patterned paper piece 4 1/8" x 4 1/8" 
Slot paper punch
ribbon
design element (optional)
Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent

Directions:
1. Adhere patterned paper to front of one solid piece

2. Apply adhesive to back of ribbon and place at top edge of patterned paper, wrapping edges to the back

3. Apply adhesive to one side of paper sack and adhere to back of front panel

4. Adhere adhesive to back of paper bag and lining up 2nd piece of solid cardstock, adhere to bag

5. Punch "handle" to center top of solid cardstock (tip: from the piece cut from the top of the bag, punch oval shape. With a tiny bit of adhesive, adhere to front where you want opening and punch again through front and back pieces)

6. Add design element (I used a sticker from Imaginations)

7. Fill with goodies and give away Ü

Friendship Willows

This is my second post today, so be sure to scroll down for my QKR pumpkin card in case you missed it.

Today is Digital Tuesday and my friend Michelle is the hostess. AND Designed2Delight is the sponsor. So I just HAD to play! Ü I love willow trees and these images that Faith designed are so fun and whimsical. Plus the challenge is sewing (faux or real), so I REALLY had to play along.

I had intended to sew by machine on my card and then came across a sheet of different stitched rub-ons and decided to give them a try. I've had this sheet for so long I don't even remember where it came from! It was definitely time to use them.

The flower strip below the sentiment was also on that sheet and matched the little flowers in the tree. The papers are from K & Company. I love their vintage paper pads.

Do you like the scallop ends to the sentiment? I put it in my oval scallop punch and punched it. I like it so much, I'm going to do this again.

QKR Tuesday

Hello friends! I am LOVING this fall weather. I need to get to a pumpkin patch though before it's over. Maybe I can talk the boys into going this weekend. OR maybe I can go while they go watch the football game. Ü Benjamin is coming home this weekend thru Tuesday for fall break. It's a great week!

I've been on a black kick lately and really like it with this image. The one loop bow was suppose to be a knot, but I liked how this looked, so left it.

Baby Bud Minnie

This sweet little girl is all dressed up for Halloween as Minnie Mouse. Isn't she adorable?! I love these little images by Baby Bud Designs. Right now they are having a fall/halloween challenge on their blog. Be sure to check it out.

Sweet Clover

I love this new image from Designed2Delight. This image comes in a set or by itself. It is clover and I love all the images that have been colored in other colors than green, but I wanted to color it a clover green and I love how this turned out.

Apple Notepad

Apple season is upon us. While we didn't have the best crop, we will still get a few gallon of cider from what we do have.

When I saw these cute apple notepads, I knew I would have to make some covers for them. When I saw the pencil on the side, I even knew what papers I was going to use. Then when I saw Faith's digi freebie this week, I knew it was perfect for my notepad cover. Be sure to hurry over, because it is only free thru tomorrow at midnite. Then create with it and post on her blog via Mr. Linky here and you will get a new freebie in your e-mail on Friday.

I love this paper by Cosmo Cricket! (I think I've said that before Ü). The pencil and ledger is from The Boyfriend line and is double sided and called Homework. The polka dots is from their Early Bird line called Farmer's Market.

I printed "just a note" with my computer on the ledger side of the paper and got lucky that it lined up on the lines! Bet I couldn't do that again! LOL!!

Apples are colored with Copics and I used Tombow's Mono Adhesive Power Bond to put it together.

Patches the Scarecrow

This might not be his real name, but he just looked like a "Patches" to me. Ü This is my first card as part of my new stint on QKR Stampede's DT. I am excited to be a part of this team and will be posting every Tuesday here using a QKR design.

Happy Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year! The sumac is turning a beautiful barn red, the wild yellow flowers (almost look like mini sunflowers) are so lovely in the ditches on my way to work. I need to take my camera and "stop and photo the flowers"! Ü

It is "apple season" here. That means we have started to cider our apples. I will also be making some apple jelly, apple cinnamon rolls, crisps, muffins, etc.

There are so many fun fall digi images out there to create with. Designed2Delight has this lovely new apple basket image that is so fun and easy to color.

When I get stuck in a rut with card designs, I like to pop in at Splitcoaststampers and view their sketch challenges. I found this sketch here and it worked perfectly with the papers I wanted to use.

Peace

This sympathy card uses a new digi image from Faith at Designed2Delight. I also made this for the challenge on Stampin' Sisters in Christ that Faith is sponsoring.

The flower image has the word "bloom" at the bottom, but I covered it up with Faith's "peace" word image in her new sympathy set.

The paper is Basic Grey and I colored the images with Copics and colored pencils.

Frankly, My Dear...

Is this not the cutest little Frankenstein you've ever seen? This darling image is by Bugaboo Stamps. It's a Bobblehead image. Remember Bobbleheads? I suppose that ages me. Ü

I created this fun coffin box by Martha Stewart. Super easy, just print out the pattern, cut, fold and glue with Tombow adhesives. Easy peasy!

The patterned paper I used is by My Mind's Eye's Boo to You line. It is double sided so the inside of the box is just as cute as the outside.

I printed the image to 2.63" x 1.9" and colored with markers and Prisma colored pencils/gamsol technique.

I stamped the saying with Just Rite alphabet stamps and then hand cut it into a tag. Then using a Making Memories safety pin (not sure they make these any more. I've had them in my stash for a long time and love them!) pinned to the ribbon.

I think I will have to make a few more of these for teacher gifts.

Weekend side note: Had a wonderful weekend with Benjamin. Much too short! Fall break is in 3 weeks, looking forward to spending time with him again. He is learning so much in school. It is all way over my head! LOL!!

Exciting News!

I am so excited to be on the Designed2Delight DT! I love Faith's digi images and can't wait to get started. Here is a project that I made with her Scaredy Cat image.

I made this Box in a Bag using this tutorial. I colored the image with Copic markers and added yellow stickles to make it look like a candle is glowing from inside.

Peek-a-BOO

Faith over at Designed2Delight is partnering with OWH (Operation Write Home) for this week's digi image. All you have to do is make a card with one of her images and send it to OWH (these cards are sent to soldiers to write in and send home) and she will send you a super cute patriotic snowman image! (please go here to get all the details)

For this challenge I used her image for this week's challenge called Scaredy Cat.

I love how this turned out. The polka dot paper is by Imaginisce and is shiny. The patterned black behind the image is some I had in my stash that is digi paper. I have no idea who it is by. I printed two of the images so I could color and cut out the pumpkin and "pop" it up.

I colored the image with Copic markers and printed the sentiment on my computer. (I am missing all my fun fonts that were on my old computer! Hopefull I will be getting a used monitor so that I can use it upstairs and just print things for my cards like this)

Here is the inside. I've been inspired by my friend Pam to decorate the inside as well as the outside. The green patterned paper is by Darcie.

Sew Beary Kind

WHEW! Learning this new computer is tiring! I'm sure I will like it better....some day. LOL!! It took me over an hour just to figure out how to resize the photo. I am hoping I can download my old program onto this one as it was much easier to use!

Okay, so on to my card. I LOVE love love this image! This is by Faith from Designed2Delight. In "talking" to her via e-mail, I find out her in-laws are from Comstock! WOW! Talk about a small world. Funnier even yet, I've never heard of them and the population of Comstock is 67-ish. How funny is that?! I need to see if anyone knows them. They live in the country like we do. I hope to get to meet her some day.

Okay, so now I'm REALLY ready to show you my card. Ü

Isn't she cute?! I colored her with Copic markers, added a couple of Basic Grey brads for the buttons and used patterned paper scraps to make my card base. Then I just sewed a zig zag stitch where the papers met.

I will definitely be coloring more of this image. Oh BTW, the image is a digital one. So you can print it to any size you want.

On Location

Joanna challenged the DT members this week to create something about our home town. Comstock's population was about 67-ish. We've had some people move in, so not sure what it is now. We actually live in the country.

My project is of a picture I took in Comstock's flower garden. This garden is almost one full block by 1/2 block. It is absolutely gorgeous and ONE woman pretty much takes care of it herself! AMAZING!!

Comstock has one main street that is 4 blocks long and the flower garden is my favorite part.

and here is my card after playing around in my software. I muted the edges and then added the sentiment. I love how it turned out:

I used Tombow's Mono-Adhesive Permanent to put the card together.

Birthday X Two

I have two birthday cards to show you featuring Tombow's Dual Brush Pens and Mono Adhesive Permanent.

I love the tutorials that Marie shares on YouTube for Tombow and have been wanting to try them and decided now was as good a time as any. This first card is made using Tombow's Dual Brush Pens creating lavendar. You can see Marie's tutorial here.

Here is my version and go at this technique.

For the inside of the card, I used two Dual Brush Pens to color a sentiment. This is a rubber stamp. I colored the words I wanted to highlight in dark purple and the rest black. Just "huff" on the stamp after coloring and stamp onto your paper.

Another fun tip to add some bling is to apply the Mono Adhesive along the edge of your panel and add glitter. I also used Tombow's Mono Aqua and added a little glitter to the dragonflies' wings.

The designer paper I used is from My Mind's Eye and the images on the paper are glittered.

As you can see from the inside of the card, I applied adhesive to the top of the scalloped paper and added glitter. The sentiment is done using the same technique as listed above for the lavendar card.

Anything Goes Stationary Box

Our challenge for this week from Tombow is "Anything Goes". I LOVE those kind of challenges. Ü

When I made my first stationary box (scroll clear down to see) and mailed it, the post office lady asked if I would make her one for her niece for a bridal shower gift.

This was made with these postage stamps as the inspiration.

Here is a peek at the inside

The directions for this stationary box shows you how to make your own address book, but in my stash were these little 3.25" x 4.25" composition books. I don't even remember where I got them, but they come 4 to a pkg. I was so excited to find out that the size was perfect for this.

I cut these tags with my Cricut using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge.

These are the little notecards. I made 4 of them (don't know where they came from either, but were in my stash. Maybe SU!??

And here are the six cards with envelopes (not shown). I kept them generic so the receiver could use them for any occasion.

I used Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond to create the box and Mono Adhesive Permanent for everything else.
