OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop
The blog hop starts here: Operation Write Home. You will be able to see all the blogs of individuals and companies that are playing along. There will be tons of inspiration as well as tutorials and give-a-ways.
The challenge was to create a thank you card and to use one of OWH's sketches. I chose their bonus sketch #10 to create this card.
I used Tombow's Mono Adhesive Permanent to adhere the pieces and doodled around the stamped image with a permanent pen.

Purrrfect
This is an older image from Stampin' Up. I've been playing around with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I wish I could color like Karen!! Click on her name to go to her blog to see what I mean. Ü
I used paper from 3 different companies: SU!, Basic Grey and I'm not sure who the dots are by. I stamped and embossed on watercolor paper, then colored and blended with Tombow's markers and blender pen.

Punchy Reindeer Treat Holder
Good Morning! Is this not the cutest little treat holder?! We made this at a workshop that my friend Bridget hosted.
I just love how it turned out. His antlers are using a snowflake punch. Here is the back side.
How many of you are going to try shopping on Black Friday? This is not something I normally do, but Benjamin is home and is needing some winter clothes as well as the rest of us needing things and this is the only day we all have off that we can go. CRAZY I tell you!
But we are going KNOWING it is going to be crazy, so will be as patient as we can with everyone. Gotta be back in time for the Husker football game, so hopefully we can go, get what we need, and get back to mom and dad's to watch the game by 2:30.

Punched Penguin
This is another card we made at the SU! punched projects class. We have a late start today due to ice, so I thought this card was appropriate. Ü

Mini Valentine Pizza Box

I used Mono Adhesive Power Bond to put the box together and Mono Adhesive Permanent for the patterned paper and other items.
I LOVE the Power Bond ahesive! Think red line tape on a roller! This stuff is awesome!
I was inspired by all the red and pink projects I've seen on Splitcoaststampers and several blogs.
The patterned paper on the sides and top of the box are from Basic Grey's "Blush" line.

I finished it off with some vintage ribbon and a quiling pin. I cut the end off of the pin, so one wouldn't get poked. Ü It's not in the intructions, but I also added
This helps to open the box. I think I will make a heart shaped cookie to put inside to give to a friend.

Homemade Christmas
I usually make most of my Christmas gifts and this year is no different for me, but I have been reading several blogs and hearing people talk that they will be making gifts this year instead of buying them. I always try to make gifts that I would like to receive.

I have been making several of these notepads with matching pens (pens aren't in all the pictures, but are bagged up with them).

Milk Carton fun

I absolutely love this milk carton project designed by Becky Roberts. I bought her pattern awhile back and have just now sat down to get one completed (actually I made 2 but that will be another post). I have 5 of her patterns and can't wait to have time to get the others made. They are sooo easy to make with her super duper step by step colored instructions. You will NOT be disappointed to order from her.
I was browsing SCS to see what the latest challenges have been and this project fits last week's color challenge #230 of Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and Blush Blossom.

It turned out so cute, but still needs something at the top. I'm not sure what yet. I need to figure out what I'm going to put in the boxes and who I'm giving it too, then maybe add a tag.
I used retired SU! paper.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

That is the name of Sankari's challenges this week on Christmas Stampin' All Year Long. Her challenge: A white Christmas card. This is truly a challenge for me. I had been trying to come up with something ever since we were given the challenge. I added a "little" color, but here is my mostly white card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Wonderful Words SU!
Ink: SU! Bliss Blue & PaperTrey Ink Snow White
Paper: glittery white cardstock (hard to see in the photo) that I got in a share a LONG time ago; Bliss Blue-SU!
Ribbon: from my vintage stash
Other: blender pen, Snowflakes embossing folder by Cuttlebug
With a blender pen, I lightly added blue ink around the embossed snowflakes.
Maria added this sketch if you need one but it's not part of the challenge.
I would LOVE to see your WHITE cards. Be sure to see what the other diva's designed.

Krafty Raspberry Chocolate Cream

The challenge is already over, but I still wanted to make a card using these colors. I was inspired by a layout I had seen in a CTMH catalog. Papers are PaperTrey Ink and stamps are SU!
This is my second post, so be sure to scroll down for the first one I posted today.

Cupcake Sack
OOPS! I forgot to make this go live. This cupcake sack is the inspiration of Cookiestamper. You can find the instructions here. I used SU! patterned paper that I won in blog candy awhile back.

I had to enlarge it to fit my little lunch sack. By enlarging I just used larger circle punches for the sides and "cherry". I also did the handle different (didn't make a knot as in the instructions) and you can see on this side view where I threaded the end thru the whole and then used a glue dot to hold together.

Here is another one I made and used Lizzie Anne Designs Digi prints Sweets & Treats. I used SU! ribbon and like how the ribbon looks on the front.

Cupcake Joy
Today is week 16 for Christmas Stampin All Year Long. This week Vicki of Summerthyme Studio is our hostess. Vicki's challenge was to add "zing with Christmas bling" to our cards. Maria included this sketch
for those who need a sketch to follow. I did not follow the sketch, but did add some "zing" in the form of glitter, Crystal Effects (on the cherries) and some red pearls that look like cherries to me.
I used TreeHouse Stamps "Christmas Cupcake" again. I had stamped a bunch of them off, so hope you all aren't tired of seeing this stamp. It's on sale right now for $7! What a bargain. "Joy" is from a discontinued SU! set.

EIO Gallery Open
**Edited** Chickie Trio from Inky Antics is discontinued.
It's the 5th and that means a new DT challenge is up for Embellish It. This month's theme is April Flowers/A Change in Time. I used flowers for my four projects.
This first card using an image from a retired SU! set that was a Valentine set. I have used this image so many times as thank you's and haven't once used it as a Valentine card. The toucan holds a heart in the image, so I cut along the beak with an exacto-knife and slipped the Prima flower between the beaks. I colored silver brads with an orange Copic to get that orange-y copper color. Patterned paper is Marrakech by Basic Grey.
The flowers are off white and I colored them with 3 yellow/orange Copics to match the paper. I tore one flower so that it only had two petals and colored green for leaves. I lvoe how that turned out.

I love this apple image! It too is a retired SU! image from the set Give Thanks. The sentiment is from a current set called Trendy Trees.
This fun project was inspired by Lisa Somerville's tutorial here. The chick image is Inky Antics "Chickie Trio". I just inked up two of the chick's to fit the panel.
I love altering these $1 candles from Dollar General. This is from their fall line, but the rust color matched this Basic Grey perfectly, so I used it. With the lid off the Pumpkin Pie sent smells yummy AND fits all the snow and ice outside even though the calendar says it's SPRING!

Be Merry

Monday is Christmas All Year Long challenge time. The diva's challenge this week was to:
Create a card by incorporating a scenary design using designer papers.
I case'd this card by fatcatstamper. I cut the trees from Basic Grey paper and used ribbon for the trunk.

The Luck of the Irish
It's Friday and that means time for Friday Challenge on Embellish-It. Today, Cindy is our hostess and her challenge is "The Luck of the Irish"...Details: We're talking St. Patricks Day here! Shamrocks, Leprechauns, Rainbows with Pots of Gold at the end!
We would love to have you come and play along with us.
Here is what I designed for this challenge. ANOTHER toilet paper tube project (tired of them yet? LOL), this one for DH. I combined this challenge with SCS's "Ways to Use It" challenge Going Green here.
Did you know there is a *warning* on the back of green
M & M's? Ü
This next project is my favorite.
This is for my youngest son. (Vicki, if you are reading this on a laptop, don't let Aaron see it) I have to tell you a cute story...I always try to do the holidays up big and fun for the boys. I have since they were very little. A couple of years ago, I was sick on St. Patrick's Day and wasn't able to do any fun things for the boys. At the end of the day, Aaron was pretty upset and said "this is the worst St. Patrick's Day of my life"! Ü This cracked me up as most people probably don't celebrate it much past wearing green. LOL!
For breakfast I make green eggs and ham (I don't make MY eggs green as that just grosses me out), then usually something green for lunch and supper...lettuce, jello squares, green kookaid, shamrock cookies, shamrock shaped sandwiches, etc.
This year I have to work and Aaron thinks I should take the day off since it's a holiday. Ü Plus he's worried, he isn't going to get any fun green things.
So, I made this for him. I leave for work before he is up, so I will put this on his night stand for him to find in the morning. I will have green eggs and ham made for him for breakfast that he can warm up. I plan to make shamrock sugar cookies Monday and these really yummy jello squares that I will post the recipe for later (with a picture). I plan to make a very simple key lime pie with oreo crust (will post recipe later as well) for supper.
Okay...on to how I made this. I used a clear card box that I purchased at Embellish It (click on the icon on the right and it's under "things to alter"...Soft Fold Boxes 4.5" x 5 7/8" x 1/5". You get five boxes for $3!! A great deal PLUS don't forget the 20% off code GLITTER. You better go order these, because I am going to post another fun project with these in a few days. Ü
The licorice is Twizzlers. I think it's nasy stuff, but kids love it. I prefer my Twizzlers to be strawberry only, the way they were made originally.
I had to cut the licorice down a little bit. Benjamin took care of the *scraps*. I wrapped the box with patterned paper by K & Co. and stamped on a white panel the shamrock from SU!'s "Pinch Proof" with inks matching the licorice (SU!'s Real Red, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise and Perfect Plum). The sentiment is from the same set. I tied it off with SU! grosgrain ribbon.
We would love to have you come and play along with us.
