Scrappy Bugaboo Notepad

Bugaboo Stamps has some really fun digi images and this is one that was a freebie quite awhile back that I have had colored for some time, but didn't know what to do with her. I was sorting thru my PILE of scraps and decided to make a scrappy notepad with her.

Jillibean Soup and Frogs

Did you know April is National Frog Month? I found these adorable pre-colored digital frog images on Scrappin' Doodles. They are so bright and cheerful and went perfectly with the new papers and goodies I received in my kit from Jillibean Soup. Here are two cards that I created using Tombow and Jillibean Soup products.

This card uses 3 of Jillibean Soup patterned papers and Thank you sticker. I used Tombow's Stamp Runner for my adhesive and Cool Gray 3 Dual Brush Pen for shadows on the image.

This card used 2 of Jillibean's paper and "friends" sticker. I used Tombow's Stamp Adhesive Runner and  cool gray 3 Dual Brush pen for shadows.

Christmas Poinsettia

I love poinsettias! My g'ma used to love them too and when she passed away, my mom bought me a poinsettia that Christmas in memory of her since I shares my love of flowers with her (mom didn't get the green thumb, must have skipped a generation Ü). Anyway every year now I get a poinsettia. The past few years I started getting the coral colored ones. Love that color!

Kaela Merry Christmas

Is this sitting Kaela angel not the cutest?! I love her and hope Faith designs more of her for each season.

I combined (with lots of help from Aaron and Faith!) two images. Kaela as a Fairy (I think she looks like an angel here) and Holiday Circle Labels.  

The polka dot paper is some new that I picked up at my LSS by My Mind's Eye from their I Believe line. I love the aqua and red together.

I added lots of glitter to the wings. "Merry Christmas" was printed from my computer and cut with one of my new Nestiblities dies.

Cup o' Chai

Designed2Delight's last freebie image for November is Christmas Cocoa. If you didn't get in on the freebie challenges, you can pick it up in the store here.

When visiting my brother and family a few weeks ago, I went into a cute shop that had these chai pkts. I picked some up, knowing they would make cute little gifts.

I used Debbie Olson's box template to make this, cutting off the front flap and just making it a box.

I altered a Dollar Store apple spice candle. The fun thing about these candles is that after the candle has burnt down, you can clean it out and use it as a candy jar (or put anything else in it that you would like).

I love this plaid circle that is part of the tag set. I thought it was perfect to use with an apple theme.

I colored all the images with Copic markers and used scrap papers. The nice thing is about the size of these jars is that one 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock will make 12 jars! This makes a very affordable gift.

To pretty up the gift wrapping I used a cello bag and some shredded paper and tied off with vintage seam binding.

I wish you all a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. We are going to my mom and dad's and all my family will be there but one brother and SIL.

Give Thanks Gable Box

There was a call on Digital Two for Tuesday for a Thanksgiving 3-D project using a new Thanksgiving image. Since I love making 3-D items, I answered the call. Ü It was a bit of a challenge to use a solid image, but I really love how this gift box turned out.

The images are separate, but I put them together for this fun gift box (tutorial here). I also changed the color to a sepia brown to make it more vintage looking.

I stamped over the image with SU!'s Linen background image to give it a vintage look. I used vintage looking papers from Graphic 45 and vintage seam binding. I also used a mix of vintage and Basic Grey buttons.

The clip is Tim Holtz brand from Hobby Lobby. I love those clips. The sentiment is just typed on my computer and printed off onto Blush Blossom cardstock.

Grateful Notepad

I have had this idea in my head for a few weeks and decided to get it done. I love Thanksgiving and wanted to create a notepad of some kind and have everyone write in it and date it what they are thankful for this year. Then when we get together next year, I thought it would be fun to read what everyone wrote and have them write in it again.

There have been so many "young" people dying of heart attacks or other things that have been sudden and it just reminded me that we need to be thankful for the time we have with loved ones.

I created a jr. legal pad (cut in half) covered notebook with a digi image by Sugar Creek Hollow. I just love this country church image.

I used Tombow's Mono Adhesive Permanent to put the whole notepad together.

Laughing Giraffes

When Faith showed the DT a sneak of her Laughing Giraffes set, I knew I had to make something. I have a small collection of giraffes and have some more really fun ideas for the images in this set.

For now I have a card to show you. Again, I used my scraps. I have a grocery sack full of scraps and I'm going to it first to see if anything mathes my coloring before cutting into anything else.

Teddy in the Cornfield

WOW! I can't believe it's the last day of October! Today I am sharing with you another image from D2D's Scarecrow Teddy set. Have you purchased it yet? Did you know there are a whopping NINE image in the set for only $2?! Hurry on over to the store to pick up yours.

Apple Pie

I've had this image colored and cut with my new Nestibilites die since it came out a couple of weeks ago. It's been sitting on the table waiting for inspiration of how to use it. When I saw this card of Laurie's, I knew I wanted to CASE the sketch. I love this layout!

I didn't have the cute little paper clip and was going to leave it blank, but then decided to use a regular paper clip. Silver didn't go with my color scheme, so I colored it with a rust Copic marker. I LOVE that you can do that! So much fun!!

The lace is some I picked up at a second hand store. A ziploc bag full of fun vintage seam tape, lace, rayon seam binding and hooks & eyes (will have to find a way to use those too) ALL for 50 cents! WOOHOO!!! I was sooo excited! Yellows, brown, blues, creamy whites, the lovely sagey, olive-y green color (used on my card here) and burgundy. Colors perfect for fall projects.

I speckled the pie tin to look like the antique enamelware. I would love having a pie tin like this. To speckle, just make dots with your clear Copic pen after you've colored the image.


There are SEVEN images in this set for only $1.50!! How can you go wrong with that?

I love fall BEARY much

Pocket Folder Journal Tutorial

This is the new Friday freebie from Faith of Designed2Delight. She designed this in honor of the challenges going on each day at SCS for the Hope You Can Cling To for breast cancer.

I have family and friends who have not only faced breast cancer, but other cancers. 5 years ago, I had a brain tumor (benign and I'm doing fine, had a scare a few weeks ago, but it wasn't a tumor again, just after affects still from the surgery) and something that helped me get through the storm was journaling. So when I first saw these images I knew I had to make a journal.

This journal is quick and easy to make. I can't remember where I first saw this idea, but I tweaked it a bit and have been making them for some time now.

Supplies:
pocket folder
8" x 5" Jr. legal pad
patterned paper to decorate folder
embellishments (opt)
stamped image
ribbon
Tombow Mono Adhesive Permanent

Directions:
1. Cut pocket folder in half on crease line
2. With short edge along paper cutter edge, cut at 8.25"  (away from bottom edge) 
3. With long edge along paper cutter edge, cut at 10.5" (away from pocket end) and then score at 5 1/8" and again at 5 5/16"

4. Cut the pocket edge down as show in the picture below. This is where your notepad will fit.

5. Cut patterned paper piece 5" x 2" and cover bound edge of notepad and insert notepad over cut flap.

6. Decorate front as desired.

7. Apply adhesvie to ribbon to the front of folder and wrap around back and tie at side.

8. You can also decorate front inside flap.

 Note: One folder will make 2 notepad journals. The "pocket" will just be on the other side. When the pocket is on the left, I cut it at an angle and add a couple of paper clips. Notes and etc can be tucked inside the pocket. Then I add adhesive to the back of the notepad to hold it inside.

Benjamin comes home tomorrow. WOOHOO!!! I have some things preposted for my blog as I will be spending as much time with him as I can. I am sad that his fall break isn't the same as ours and I will have to be at work, but this way he can spend time with his dad and maybe they can find a car!

Friendship Willows

This is my second post today, so be sure to scroll down for my QKR pumpkin card in case you missed it.

Today is Digital Tuesday and my friend Michelle is the hostess. AND Designed2Delight is the sponsor. So I just HAD to play! Ü I love willow trees and these images that Faith designed are so fun and whimsical. Plus the challenge is sewing (faux or real), so I REALLY had to play along.

I had intended to sew by machine on my card and then came across a sheet of different stitched rub-ons and decided to give them a try. I've had this sheet for so long I don't even remember where it came from! It was definitely time to use them.

The flower strip below the sentiment was also on that sheet and matched the little flowers in the tree. The papers are from K & Company. I love their vintage paper pads.

Do you like the scallop ends to the sentiment? I put it in my oval scallop punch and punched it. I like it so much, I'm going to do this again.

Sweet Clover

I love this new image from Designed2Delight. This image comes in a set or by itself. It is clover and I love all the images that have been colored in other colors than green, but I wanted to color it a clover green and I love how this turned out.

Happy Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year! The sumac is turning a beautiful barn red, the wild yellow flowers (almost look like mini sunflowers) are so lovely in the ditches on my way to work. I need to take my camera and "stop and photo the flowers"! Ü

It is "apple season" here. That means we have started to cider our apples. I will also be making some apple jelly, apple cinnamon rolls, crisps, muffins, etc.

There are so many fun fall digi images out there to create with. Designed2Delight has this lovely new apple basket image that is so fun and easy to color.

When I get stuck in a rut with card designs, I like to pop in at Splitcoaststampers and view their sketch challenges. I found this sketch here and it worked perfectly with the papers I wanted to use.
