Hearts for the NICU

It's "Anything Goes" this week for the Cutting Cafe challenge. My granddaughter entered this world 10 weeks early August 27th, weighing 1 lb .5 ou and measuring 13" long.

My daughter-in-law showed me a fabric heart with a poem that she received while there and asked if I could make a few more for her.

I used the heart from the Cutting Cafe's Heart Envelope Shaped Card Template and manipulated one of the hearts to the size I needed. The hearts need to be no smaller than 5.5" and no larger than 8". I decided to not only make some for her, but to make extra and donate them to the NICU unit where my sweet grandaughter is.

Here is the poem that goes with them:

Wear this cloth against your breast.
Near your heart and warm caress.

Place it close to your baby’s face
allowing your presence to fill the space.

Your baby will feel your love is near,
in scent and warmth when you cannot be here.

Allow the milk you so tenderly share,
to be the connection for you
and the one you hold dear

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to visit the Cutting Cafe Blog tomorrow to see the design team's projects in which you can leave a comment to be entered into a drawing to win 3 FREE sets of your choice from the online store.
