Organized Card Box

I always love to see and read about fellow stampers papercrafting tips, don’t you? Well, this week Joanna has asked the DT to share with you how we organize the cards we make throughout the year.

I have had this Sterilite container for several years and have stored my cards in it. I had made some dividers with cardstock and they had become so bent and grungy and had planned for some time now to update them, but just never seemed to get around it. So this challenge was perfect for me!

To make my dividers, I cut some very heavy chipboard (my post office lady saves them for me, they come with the flat sheets of postage stamps and she knows I can use them for something Ü) and then covered them (front and back) with patterned paper that fits the theme (of the cards going behind them) with Tombow’s Mono Adhesive Permanent.

Then I punched some tabs with my SU! tab punch and hand wrote the type of cards that I seem to make and use the most.

I adhered these (staggering them as shown in the picture below) with the Mono Adhesive Permanent also.

Card Sketch

Faith is sponsoring the challenge on Card Patterns today. Here is the card I created for this challenge:
I used Designed2Delights' Cupcake image, "Cupcake and Roses", Basic Grey's cupcake paper, glitter for the flowers and leaves and puff paint for the frosting.

Love Ya Cupcake (take 2)

I've had this D2D image colored for some time, but hadn't gotten it into card form yet. Yesterday, I decided to try to sit down and make a card. It felt so good to be creative.
I used Basic Grey's cupcake paper pad.

This also is for the One Crazy Stamper challenge.

**I go in for day 8 IV infusion, then see dr. Hopefully can try to go to work today as I have missed so much.

D2D Valentine Blog Hop

Hello! If you have just come from Sherrie's blog, you are in the right place. Wasn't her project awesome?! If you didn't come from Sherrie's blog, be sure to start at the beginning of the hop which is Faith's blog so as not to miss any details.

We are just one month away from Valentine's Day, and Designed2Delight has many valentine images. Go HERE to see all the wonderful images Faith has designed for Valentine's Day. There are so many new ones you haven't seen yet.

For my card I used the new image Love Ya Cupcake. I love this image. I'm not real fond of candy hearts (okay can't stand them. LOL, but the Sweet Tart ones are good), but DH and the boys love them. I go and by them when they are marked down (usually to about 9 cents) after Valentine's Day and they love it! Okay, anyway, back to my card.

This didn't turn out anything like I had imagined. I had planned to use Basic Grey's cupcake paper, but then had scraps of this laying around from finishing up my Inky Antics CHA cards (hint Ü), so decided to use it up instead of cutting into new paper.

I colored the images with colored pencils and Gamsol and tied with my vintage rayon seam binding that I love so much.
We have a fun contest going on with this hop. Start at the beginning (Faith's blog) and collect all the names of the images each DT member used and list them in order, and then go back to her blog and leave a comment there with your answers. You will be entered into a drawing to win ALL of the images that were used for this hop!! How awesome is that?! TYoju only have until midnight, Sunday, Jan. 16th to enters. Faith will post on her blog after she has chosen a winner so be sure to watch her blog.

Now on with the hop... Lola is next on the hop and you won't want to miss her awesome post!

Something Old, Something New D2D Challenge

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to use what I have already on hand. Some of you may have received stamping goodies for Christmas. This challenge is to create a card/project using something you have on hand (possibly hoarding Ü) ; use something that is fairly new or maybe never been used (you can use the new image Faith designed for this week for your "new" item if you like Ü).

My "something new" is this fun Love Ya to Stitches image. My "something old" is the paper doily that I've had for a very long time (I'm going to have a post later this month showing what I used to do with these doilies 10 years ago! Ü). The ribbon could also qualify as "old" as it is vintage seam binding. With 100 yds on a roll it will take a long time to use it up. I love the softness of it and how it ties. The sild flower is also old now that I think of it. It came from a silk hydrangea stem that I got at Hobby Lobby. I think I've had the petals for a couple of years.

I was messing around in my editing program and faded the card out and thought it looked cool. It looks like a loved vintage card that someone has kept over the years.

We would love to have you come and play along with us on Card Ideas. Be sure to stop by and see what the DT created. Awesome inspiration there! And if you play along with us you could win a free digi image of your choice from the Designed2Delight store.

While you're at the Card Ideas blog, be sure to look around. There are some awesome projects posted there.

Have you been to the D2D Gallery Album? It is also full of wonderful ideas and the fun thing you can do there is search for images by name or for DT members. Then you can see all the projects made with that image or by that designer.

Let It Snow Coaster

Good Morning! Yesterday it was back to work/school for Aaron and me. Neither of us were ready to give up our vacation. Ü We had lots of fun playing games and just being together as a family.

Today for my QKR Stampede project, I have made a coaster. My LSS carries these 4" coasters and I have several of them. I used the digital image Snowman Scene, shrunk it down to fit my coaster and colored with Copic.

I cut a piece of Basic Grey paper to fit my coaster and adhered with Tombow's Mono Aqua Liquid Glue. Then I adhered my image. On the back I cut a piece of cork and adhered it with the same glue. It's not shown in the picture, but I will add a piece of clear contact paper to the image front to protect it.

This with a mug and some hot chocolate would make a wonderful gift.

My Twenty Eleven Word: CREATE

Long before I even had a computer and saw that others had a "word of the year", I had been doing this. Every New Year's Eve I would think back over the past year and think ahead and ask God to give me a word, verse, song etc for me to claim for the upcoming year. Many times it has been a song as we love music (can't sing worth anything, but love to listen Ü).

This year is no different and the first word that came to mind was "CREATE". At first it seemed like a dumb word to me and I kept trying to think of another one that reflected my "goals" for 2011. But no matter what word I thought of, it just didn't fit and "CREATE" kept coming back to me.

I don't mean that "CREATE" is a dumb word, but being a creative person, it just didn't seem like a word that I would claim as "mine" for the new year.

However, as I thought about all I wanted to do this year, "CREATE" couldn't be more perfect.

Here is what God inspired me to do with the word "CREATE" that I believe He layed on my heart to claim as my own for 2011...

CREATE...
1. Psalm 57: 10 (NASB) says "CREATE in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me".
(There are some things I haven't shared that our family has gone through the past 2 years that have brought so much pain, heartache and tears. I'm not going to go into all the details, but it has to do with the church we attend and some things that have happened there that affected us personally. The results of selfish actions has caused lots of bitterness in people, torn apart families and our church. You are probably thinking then get out, but for a reason I can't even understand we have chosen to stay. Maybe we are dumb to think that things will get better, that people will apologize for the wrong they've done, but for now we are staying and I definitely need a "steadfast" spirit as we continue to deal with the aftermath of what has happened. Another reason we stay is for the kids. Ours (they have best friends in church) and the youth that we work with. We love those kids and want to stay for them. It's not their fault for all the junk going on. I'm not saying God won't ask us to leave at some point, but for now, we believe we are to stay.)

So it is my prayer that God will indeed CREATE in me a clean heart, to be able to forgive and that He will renew in me a steadfast (unchanging, loyal, steady, unmovable) spirit.

2. I want to CREATE a home that is warm, welcome and inviting, first to my family and then for others and not the other way around.

3. I want to CREATE healthy, appetizing meals.

4. I want to CREATE memories with my husband and boys that can be captured in scrapbooking or just in memories that they can think back on that will bring smiles to them in the years ahead.

5. I want to continue to CREATE gifts for loved ones.

6. I want to CREATE more cards for family, friends, soldiers, and others.

7. I want to CREATE a stamping space that is more efficient on a very tight budget.  (will take ideas here Ü)

8. I want to CREATE more time to spend with family and friends. (and not always be so busy!)

9. I am wanting to CREATE an Etsy account to sell my extra cards and projects.

10. I want to CREATE time out of the month for just me. To refresh and renew my attitude and mind so that I may indeed stay steadfast in spirit.

Snow Angels

Happy New Year! I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Mojo-flowing New Year. Ü

Starting today and every Saturday on D2D's Card Ideas blog we are going to have challenges using Designed2Delight's images. I am the challenge coordinator and hope you will play along. There will also be prizes every week, so be sure to stop by Card Ideas and get inspired by what the DT has designed this week.

Where I live, it's freezing in January! There is usually snow on the ground and if it's good snowman making snow, the boys and I go out and make a snowman. This is our first "Image from the Attic" challenge. This challenge is to remind you of some of the wonderful older images Faith has in her store. We will be having a "Image from the Attic" challenge each month on the first Saturday. This week's challenge is to create any card/project using Primitive Snow Angel, Snow Angel, or Stitched Snowman.

I created two projects. This first project is a simple card using Stitched Snowman. The font I used is CK Ali.

here is the inside:

My second project is one I've been wanting to do with digi images for some time. I used Primitive Snow Angel. One of the things I love about digital stamping is that you can size the images to fit the project you are wanting to create.

Before I knew what rubberstamping was, I did alot of sewing, appliquing, etc, taking my goods to craft shows and selling in craft stores.

To create this project I printed it out on computer paper and then suing Wonder Under, traced the reverse image and ironed onto fabric. Then I cut it out and fused onto muslin. Using black embroidery floss I did the design work that Faith had on her image ("x's", stitching etc.). I had this black frame in my stash that was just perfect for this project.

I don't like how the black embroidery floss looks behind the muslin and think I will take it out and adhere to batting and stitch again. I needed to get this uploaded, so just pretend you can't see it. LOL!
