Kai

Today is Friday Freebie on Baby Bud Designs. The last Friday of the month they post a freebie for everyone so be sure to go over and get Kai. Don't ya just want to pinch those cute little cheeks? Ü His hair reminds me of Benjamin's when it gets long. Very curly. Everyone (well maybe not EVERYONE) commented on how sad they were to see he had cut his hair short...no more curls. Usually college guys let their hair grow long. Oh well, I digress once again...

I thought these "Oliver" papers by Basic Grey were perfect for this little boy bud. I colored him with copics and used a simple layout from SCS sketch challenge #312.

this is my 4th post for today, so be sure to scroll down to see everything else. Ü

Got Snow?

We do "finally". Not "finally" to DH as it is so much more work for him here on the farm, but for the rest of us that have been wanting snow, it now feels like winter.
It's snowing as you can see in the picture and suppose to snow and start blowing later today.

Brr Baby & Believe

I have two cards to share with you today. This first one was last week's free digi image from Designed2Delight. If you have been playing along each week you have until midnight tonite to upload your card and then will receive the next freebie tomorrow morning. If you wasn't able to play along, you can still get it from the store here.

It is freezing here! Literally! We are suppose to be having a blizzard tomorrow, so we will see what happens. The wind is blowing and it is snowing now.

Here are a couple cardinals trying to keep warm. I looked up cardinal in the encyclopedia and it says that male cardinals are red and female are brown, so I colored this mama cardinal protecting her baby. Ü

My second card uses "i believe" from Baby Bud Designs. I love this little bud!

for both of my cards I used SCS sketch challenges. #313 for the first one and #312 for the second one.

Be sure to scroll down to see day 2 of A Year in Review.

Organized Altered Chest

This week we are sharing projects fo the New Year with you. I try hard not to make too many New Year's resolutions as it seems they don't happen. Ü But I like to try to get more organized.

Here is a fun way to have your most used items at your fingertips. First I spray painted the wood white where it would show (didn't where the paper covered up.
I used Tombow products to help make this altered wood chest of drawers. I had some old Mod Podge that was gunky and needed to get this done. I turned to Tombow's Mono Liquid Aqua Glue and LOVE the results!!

I used a dampened foam brush to spread the liquid glue evenly over each side as I added the papers. It is important to use a dampened foam brush so it doesn't absorb all the glue. Also makes spreading much smoother and easier.

sorry for the bad picture here, but it was the only one I had of the side view

I used the same papers inside the drawers as what is on front. After letting it dry for 2 hours, I brushed another layer over the top to seal the papers.

view of the back
the flower on top is also attached with glue. I had to use a glue gun to attach the flowers and gems on the handles because the little flowers absorbed the wet glue and wouldn't stick.

Happy Winter

I love this image and sentiment. We are to have 40* weather for the next 3 days. Have yet to really see snow here? A few flakes, but nothing that sticks to the ground.

Cool Yule with Ornaments

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to take time to reflect on the true meaning as to why we celebrate. As my four year old nephew said "it's not about Santa it's all about Jesus" Ü

Tooth Fairy Tin

Today for my QKR Stampede project, I have a fun little tooth fairy tin to show you made with a generic brand altoid tin. I covered the top and side with paper using Tombow's Mono Adhesive Power Bond (love that stuff!) and then printed this QKR digi image Tooth Fairy. I like the digi images for projects like this. I can shrink or enlarge them to fit whatever project I want to make. This image was shrunk to a 2" width.

Using the Mono Adhesive Power Bond again, I adhered ribbon to the lid edge. I used Mono Aqua Liquid Glue to the wings to add glitter and to the buttons, coin and teeth by itself to add shine. It works as a crystal effects type of product. Love that!

Holiday Tombow Tots

It is time for another Tombow Tot project. This month the theme is holiday and I knew when I saw this tree on SCS that this is what I would be doing.

It is super easy and I love how the tree turned out. I will be making these with my resource students the week before Christmas break. I already showed them what they will be making and the are very excited.

To make you need four circles cut in 1/2 (this will make 2 trees. My circles were 2 3/4", 4.5", 5 3/4", and 7 1/4".

Overlap the straight edges together to form a cone and adhere with Tombow's Mono Glue Stick.
Here is a picture of the back so you can see the "seams"

With Tombow's Mono Aqua Liquid Glue, add glue around the bottom edge of each cone and sprinkle with glitter.

Inside the 3 smallest cones, add some Mono Aqua Liquid Glue and stack on top of each other smallest to the largest.

Have fun creating these in all kinds of sizes and patterns.

We are headed to mom and dad's today to celebrate Christmas. Tuesday is last day of finals. Can't wait til Wednesday for a much needed Christmas break. Ü Hope you all have a great weekend.

JOY Shoebox Sister Swap

**WARNING! VERY long post Ü

I entered another one of Monica and Carrie's Shoebox Sister Swaps. I love these swaps and it's been so much fun to get to know others through this fun swap. This time my "sister" was Dawn Winslow. We have had so much fun chatting on line and getting to know each other.

Here are all the wonderful goodies (minust the Mounds candy I already ate Ü) Dawn sent me. Be sure to click on her name above if you want to see what I sent her.

Something to keep me warm, which came at the most perfect time as it is FREEZING (19* feels like -6* they say) today and the wind is howling. BRRR!

fun doodads that I just love and can't wait to use today when I play create...

This beautiful box has the yummiest trail mix in it. Cranberries, nuts of all kinds and chocolate chips. YUM-O!

I love this scrapbook kit! I have been "eyeing" all the December albums on line that people have been doing and thinking I should do one. You can read all about it on Ali's blog here. I know have what I need to do one and think this is something I am going to do next year.

Look at this awesome calendar she sent me all decorated! WOW!

She also sent me a yummy recipe for cranberry nut bread and a glittery "JOY" that got missed in the photos. Thank you Dawn for all the wonderful goodies! I loved them all and loved getting to know you. Ü
