Santa Tag Box

This is another project I made for the craft/home party show tomorrow night. This is a tag box that I designed and will have a tutorial for you next week.

Santa is from Lizzie Anne Designs Christmas Magic set. The paper is Lizzie Anne Design's Deck the Halls digi paper. I can see using this for Valentine's Day as well (the paper not the santa heehee Ü)

I cut it with my new oval Nestibilities. Glitter was added to the hat and the image was colored with Copics.

Tomorrow I will share some projects with the images from LAD's new Monthly Mix set.

Homemade Christmas

I usually make most of my Christmas gifts and this year is no different for me, but I have been reading several blogs and hearing people talk that they will be making gifts this year instead of buying them. I always try to make gifts that I would like to receive.

I have been making several of these notepads with matching pens (pens aren't in all the pictures, but are bagged up with them).
Monday night several gals are getting together at Huckleberry Hideout's and selling their wares.
If you live in the area, please come and visit us. It will be from 4-8 pm. While you are there be sure to take in the parade of lights. I will have these notepads as well as some other goodies I'm working on. I will post them at a later date.

Black Friday

So do any of you go shopping on Black Friday? I never have been until today and what a crazy time to go shopping! The only reason I went is that I took my SIL to the dr. in the big city and stopped by Target, Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby to pick up a few (yes really a FEW) things that I need to finish up some projects I'm working on.

To tell you how quick a trip it was, I left at 6 and got home a little after 1! It's a 1.5 hr trip one way and several trips to the hospital (she had a glucose test done). As soon as she was done we had lunch and headed home.
Here are a couple of Christmas cards I've had done, but just haven't had time to upload. All images are by Lizzie Anne Designs. The ornaments were paper pieced in this card using Basic Grey papers. The background polka dots are from Lizzie Anne Designs digi paper pack Way Up North.
This card uses some new Basic Grey I picked up at my LSS called Eskimo Kisses. How fun a name is that?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I hope you have a wonderful day with family and/or friends.

Here are some Thanksgiving projects for you all today. I used the boy and girl Pilgrim singles from Lizzie Anne Designs.

The plaid in this card is digi print from Summer Driggs. I love how it matches the Basic Grey patterned paper perfectly. She has some of the coolest digi prints and accents.

This is a tag box. It is so much fun to make. I will post a tutorial later.

Sisters' Shoebox Swap

I am a big fan of Monica's blog The Homespun Heart. When I saw this Noel Swap post, I just had to play along. Monica and Carrie (go here to Carrie's blog to see links of what others sent) partnered me up with Jenni and what a perfect partner. Our tastes were almost exact. So it was easy for me to make something for her as I knew if it was something I would like to receive, hopefully she would too. Ü

Here is what I rec'd from Jenni: She tied lines of a song or poem (I'm not sure which it is as I haven't heard of it) that was typed on vellum to each goody in the box.
I love this super fun swag.
It is full of fun fabrics that match my home and rustic bells, stars, the letter "F"
and these ADORABLE itty bitty clothespins to hold pictures, cards etc.
How cool is this?! I am definitely inspired to make some of these for gifts.

I love this rustic looking little electric candle. This is going to go on my wash stand chest.

Look at this wonderfully rustic (notice a theme Ü I LOVE rustic) star decor. I love the embossed tin on it and the mustard color is perfect and matches the mustard in my wallpaper.

Another very fun item that I'm wondering if she made. It is nested in LOTS of homespun fabric strips that I'm going to use to tie tags on my gifts this year.
Here is a shot of all the goodies (minus the swag). YUMMY chai tea and *cones* of the yummiest snack! I definitely will be getting that recipe from her. It is disappearing FAST here. Ü Also nested in there is plaid towel. It has rusts, greens, browns and a hint of mustard. I love using these type of towels to line baskets and fill with breads, muffins etc when I go somewhere. This will be lining a basket this Thanksgiving. The colors match my dining room wallpaper so perfectly, that you would have thought I sent her a swatch!
Last but not least is this YUMM-) bag of chocolate covered craisins. Hmmmm wonder if this can be hid???? Ü

Thank you so much Jenni! I hope you enjoy your pkg as much as I enjoy mine!
Here is what I sent Jenni:
(I bought her a dish towel and made an applique towel as well as a large cello bag of treats that I forgot to photo. Oh and sent her and her family Twin Bing candy. She told me her favorite cookie was a chocolate covered cherry cookie and I thought she would like the candy that we can get here in NE.)
I went with a green, brown, red, white/cream color theme and gingerbread image theme.
This is a tea holder. I love this digi image by Whimsie Doodles. This holds 4 tea bags.
An altered Dollar General candle:
A notepad made with a junior legal pad cut in half and matching pen. Image is by Lizzie Anne Designs new Gingerbread Man single.A larger journal made with a junior legal notepad.

Brain overload

WHEW! What a week! Two college visits back to back. So many decisions to make. I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to college stuff. Benjamin has to decide if he's seen enough or wants any more visits, then it's time to start applying for the school of his choice's scholarships.

DH is off hunting this morning. Hope he gets his deer early, but with being opening day it might take awhile.

Plan on a lazy day of playing games with Aaron and hope to sneak in some creating time as I need to get some DT work done as well as a birthday gift made for my boss.

Happy Harvest Treat Box

I love this treat box that Cami designed. It is very small, but perfect for a little treat to brighten one's day.

I used the scarecrow from LAD's Happy Harvest set and digi papers from Bloomin Doodles paper pack.

Season's Greetings Deer

This Inky Antic deer is just too cute and fun to color. I used My Mind's Eye papers and I love the colors in this set.
Today is another beautiful day here and I hope to get lots of stamping and creating done and well as some baking. I will have a recipe to share with you later as well that is super yummy.

Stack o' Cupcakes

This image from Inky Antics just makes me smile. I love the Basic Grey paper too as it makes it more festive. It's hard to see in the photo, but I used Spica pens to color the frosting, orange and yellow of the shell and and candle which makes it sparkle and shine.

Cookie Bag

It's my turn this month (along with other DT members) to share a Project of the Month (POTM) for Lizzie Anne Designs (you can see the other projects here).

Here is what I designed:

Handmade Cookie Bag

I love the glassine bags that I see people using a lot of and I didn’t have any or quick access to any, so decided to design my own. I wanted to make these with a pumpkin cookie inside to give as treats and didn’t want the cookie to stain the bag so lined it with wax paper.

Supplies: Happy Harvest Stamp set, Spooktackular Digi Paper pack, White and Rust cardstock, printer paper, wax paper, ribbon, buttons, crochet thread, Nestibilities Circle and Scallop Circle Dies, black ink, colored pencils, rust ink, glue or spray adhesive, Tacky Tape adhesive, scallop edged scissors

Directions:
1. Print Orange dots from Spooktackular digi paper pack on 8.5” x 11” printer paper (not cardstock).
2. Cut printed paper and wax paper 5.5” x 8.5”
3. Using glue or spray adhesive, glue wax paper to wrong side of patterned paper
4. Fold in thirds so that the edges overlap in the back
5. Apply Tacky Tape along one 5.5” edge and along 8.5” edge and adhere.
6. With scallop edged scissors round the top (I used a bowl to draw and then cut)
7. Stamp pumpkin from Happy Harvest in black ink on white cardstock and color.
8. Cut into a circle and sponge edges with rust ink.
9. Cut scallop circle with rust cardstock and sponge edges.
10. Tie ribbon around bag and knot in the front
11. Adhere pumpkin piece and buttons to the front.
12. Insert Iced Pumpkin Cookie (two will fit)

Sow's Life

Here is a card that was sent to Inky Antics for their shows. Quick and easy to make and the Basic Grey paper is so pretty.

on a personal note:
Off to visit UNK today with Benjamin for a private tour. This is our first college visit and reality is starting to sink in! I am so not ready for this! He should still be my little boy.

Happy Harvest Flourishes

I made this card for SCS's Featured Stamper challenge. The featured stamper yesterday was Miss Boo. I case'd this card of hers.

I used the same layout and color scheme but used LAD's pumpkin from Happy Harvest and flourishes from Fanciful Flourishes. I paper pieced the pumpkins with their digi paper pack Spooktacular.

LAD New Singles Release

Today, Lizzie Anne Designs is releasing two new singles just in time for the holidays.

This card was cased from amyfitz1 on SCS. I used the new LAD single "Holiday Season". The snowflakes are from LAD's set "Way Up North".

I love gingerbread men and have a small collection of gingerbread items, so I was excited to see this new stamp. The words under the gingerbread man gave me the idea to make a mini album. I will fill it with pictures of the boys helping me make cookies and goodies for Christmas.
The book measures 4.25" x 5.5". To make the front and back covers sturdier, I cut a cereal box and then adhered paper to the front and back of the chipboard. All of the pages inside are a gingerbread color. I will type up the recipes that we make every year and put on one page and then on the page beside it a picture of the boys and/or picture of the treats.
